What is considered a religious topic here?

I know it is not allowed to talk about religion here, but I want to know more information about what exactly not allowed.

I assume debating whether a theory is true or false is something surely not allowed. For example if someone was buddhist and made a thread why the buddha god is the real god or that humans evolved from monkeys would be something inapproriate to post or debate.

But how about discussing the theory itself and not its validity?
Is talking about relativity theory whether I believe in it or no would be something inappropriate?

If so... Where is the line drawn? Many, including myself, believe that mainstream science is a religion, because we get educated so many things in school / from television without proof and most of us just accept it.
Is mainstream science allowed to discuss? If it's only allowed to discuss the theory itself, not its validity, then I am assuming it is also allowed to discuss and share information other world-views whether they are true or false not affecting anyone's belief system.

I am looking forward to the clarification.

My view is that the poster probably relates more to BHW folks rather than domestic violence hotline support, therefore he made the thread.

I don't see myself participating in a discussion on a religious forum, because I just don't relate to those people. I love bhw and its community, and would love to hear others' views and theories whether I aggree with them or not.

If you're in doubt about a topic, it's always a good call to not post it.

I am not a moderator, but I am guessing if you talk about the theory of relativity, it's fine - as long as you not drag personal dogmas in it.

Equating science or education for that matter to religion is your personal idea. But science and religion do not equate. At least not in the normal paradigm of sense. Science is at it's core the very antithesis of religion. Science is all about proofs, whereas no other religion is about it.

So discussing science should be fine. As long as it doesn't devolve into a religious debate.

Take evolution for instance. There is a lot to be debated on that topic. Everyone interprets evolution based on a ton of factors - their information sources, their peers, their upbringing etc. But before you know it, purist arrive with incarnation and heaven and hell and whatever else.

TL;DR - If in doubt, steer clear.

Why do you want to discuss religion here? Look for some religion forums if you're interested.
I know people discuss various things in lounge but religion is a really sensitive issue and people might feel bad with it.

I had a thread about where would people like to emigrate to, it did pretty good but when I told them I like to emigrate to countries that had a certain demographic,it went to shit fast lol
