Lets say we had these keyword variations:

kw
best kw
best cheap kw
best kw for teenagers
best purple kw
cheap kw
diy kw

would you go this deep for the best KWs?
siteurl.com/kw/best
siteurl.com/kw/best/cheap
siteurl.com/kw/best/teenagers
siteurl.com/kw/best/purple

then keep things without best under the main kw
siteurl.com/kw/cheap
siteurl.com/kw/diy

would you ever keep DIY under the best page? or could that confuse google
siteurl.com/best-kw/DIY

especially where some pages don't have much volume it seems like a stretch to go 4 silos deep

Honestly? That's 1 article stuff for me. Long XY K words long article with separate sections about "best cheap KW", "Best KW for teenagers", "Best purple KW", etc. That's how I would do it and how I have done it in the past with pretty nice results.

Wouldn't doing that focus on way too many keywords? and kill keyword density?

No, it won’t. What it will do is leave you with a big authoratative article that encompasses your niche and allows you to focus your linkbuilding on one page that will rank you for many different keywords. I’m definitely with Nargil on this one. My current projects homepage article is like 4000 words of actual readable content. Long engaging content keeps people on your site longer which google uses to fuel your rankings

Henry, I've followed both your journeys and appreciate the insight.

Im actually in the process of creating a pretty decent money site network. My original money site was good but received advice it would be better to create my own network, with each site focusing on a specific niche.

So your saying for example my niche was "Cars"

I can have a home page targeting these keywords:

1) What is a car?
2) How to Buy a car?
3) Best cars in 2018.
etc..

If I seperate it into sections I can still target each specific keyword? Just has to look natural correct?

What Henry said. Some of my articles are 15K worda long. That allows me to target tons of keywords, while keeping the density in check

Wow okay, obviously your articles are split into sections. Do you focus on specific keywords per section?

Correct and it depends. Mostly yes.

Yes from me as well. Let’s say your main keyword was running shoes. Here’s a brief template for you:

H1 title post

Featured image

Short lead in to the article summarizing what you’ll be covering

H2 types of running shoes

Overview of what is going to follow

H3 type number 1

Description

H3 type 2

Description

H3 type 3

Deacription

H2 buy running shoes online

Content

Etc etc

id also make sure to add a table of content with in-page links to jump to each section

Agreed. I have a ToC on my current project and another benefit I found of using it is that google will include a "Jump to: H2 Heading" rich snippet in the serps for a lot of terms that I target in my main silo.

Thanks guys! I actually use a mix of TOC and Anchor links. I use FIXED TOC for some articlea and the others Id just create my own table of contents at the top that anchor to the correct section. Its neater this way sometimes. But Fixed TOC is a great great wordpress plugin that you guys should take a look at it. I think its the best wordpress TOC out there.

Quick question also guys,

*When you hide the actual title using plugin, and create your own H1 title, does the original title still show in HTML?

I hide all my titles using Elementor and just create me own. Wonder if I'm doing it right lol or missing something lol.

I actually removed all of my table of contents from wordpress since while using toc plugin i found for some reason google was indexing my contents areas as seperate pages in search, was bizarre but could cause cannibalization issues, didnt test enough but rather safe than sorry

My silo strategy
I do create 6 blogs for each of my targeted page
And I form a circle siloing with these 6 blogs

Each blog should link to the targeted page of any long tail keywords
Targeted page should has a link to all the 6 blogs or some of the blogs.

That's it.
Follow these strategy for all the keywords and targeted pages.
