Is CPA Build legit?

I want to start receiving payments from CPAbuild, except they say I need to submit a W9 before they can pay me.
My mom doesn’t want me to give out my SSN online so she doesn’t want me to fill out the form
Is CPA build legit? Why do they need a W9 from me?

The W9 form says that EINs are for companies and SSNs are for individuals. Do I have to go through some process to form a company before I get an EIN?

It's easy to get an EIN. Just fill out a form. You'll have to use your SSN, but you're giving it to the IRS and not a 3rd party.

Juat search "apply for an employer identification number ein online" and visit the IRS page (first result).
