I think you can find a Youtube tutorial showing what you're looking for. Btw, these "tips" are what makes a graphic designer what he is, so don't underestimate them, a couple of "tips" can make you the perfect logo or animation video.

In this day and age I would suggest to not create a .gif but a video file with the .mp4 extension and add it via the html5 <video> element
