Facebook PPC and High Commision Referral, is idea possible?

I posted this last night on the Facebook PPC thread but haven't had any responses yet so I thought I'd post here where there's more traffic.

So without giving too much away.

My job means I can get up to £250 for each new person I refer to work (range is £100, 200, 250 depending on the location they sign up to). It's a very popular job among students due to its very flexible work hours.

The person I refer receives £50 and we both get paid after a certain milestone is reached (easily done in a few days/week).

I was wondering if a) Facebook allows affiliate link/referral links as advertisements b) what would be the best way of testing this out the small scale?

Is it best to create a landing page or go straight to the referral link or create a blog about the job or student living?

Seems very simple but I'm sure there's probably some issues so just wanted to ask some advice. Just thought it might be a clever way of making some extra ££££.

I'd appreciate any advice/criticism and guidance on how I can test this out a small scale and potentially scale?

Given that the university student base is over 2M I have a big potential audience and could even create ads for other people like graduates or people who like to do what the job is but getting paid for it.

Facebook doesn't directly allow affiliate links but you can simply create a landing page or funnel where you can redirect them also add your facebook pixel so you can retarget every one for a week. ( which will surely boost your income). I would give you little more suggestion if i knew your niche and if you are offering some work online or offline.

I have a page set up on my blog which I have set as a redirect to my affiliate link. Makes it easier to share online and offline. The PPC side of things is what I need to focus on nailing. The issue I have is that if I did an option in email I don't think I'll get all that much sign ups as my target audience is university students (18-22 ish) who need a job/extra cash. As such I was thinking of redirecting them to a landing page which was a simple guide to how to sign up and get the £50 sign up bonus.

This sounds like a pyramid scheme? If it isn't, then you can approach university student union facebook groups, like "kings student union" - search that on facebook. You'll find a bunch, and then spam through the groups. Generally speaking, groups are much more forgiving than ads.

Running an ad like this to students is essentially pointless in UK, take it from someone with experience, unless you have a SUPER clickbait funnel (which it sounds like you don't, no offence)

Once you have 100-200 conversions through group spamming (assuming you have your pixel installed), create a lla @ 1%, and then run ads, by that point you would've perfected your funnel for (essentially) free and you will have built a base target audience without wasting capital.

I would personally post as fake uni student profiles. The issue is you really have no data right now, and you're kinda batting in the blind. If you start running ads right now (considering how facebook is going), most of your spend will be burnt and it will be frustrating.

By using the groups, you will (hopefully) get conversions as you improve your funnel. When these conversions happen, they will track on your facebook pixel (assuming you have installed it on the funnel). When you have 100-200 conversions, then you can start building a basic LLA @ 1% - a lookalike audience.

This audience you can then use to build out some decent targeted ads. Without it, you're really going to struggle. MMO/job offers are literally spammed at students, you really need to have a tight funnel to make it work.
