I expect to get paid for a service in Bitcoins. It is not big amount but this will be for some months. Should I keep withdrawing it or let it accumuale for an year or so ? Are there chances of BTC touching 50000 mark by end of this year ? If someone can explain in simple terms that what are the requirements for that to happen.

Yes, there are chances of it touching the 50000 mark. There's also a chance it will hit the 1,000,000 mark. But, there's also a chance for it to hit 0. All estimates are all speculation, anyone here that comments below me are also speculating, so take the gamble.

If you aren't losing any $ for the service you are providing, you should just take out just enough for your needs, and keep the rest in Bitcoins as a gamble. Why not?

Can you tell some of the reasons for it going to 0 ? Will it happen if prices keep going down and there is huge panic so finally it collapses ?

The point is nobody knows where it's going.

If I were sure it's going to U$ 50k, I'd buy all in, sell car/house then repurchase later. But that's not the case. So we really don't know.

Only invest what you can afford to lose.

Basically it all hinges on what the outcome with tether/bitfinex is. Right now tether is basically the central bank doing QE (faking buy orders to prop up price of btc).. If, somehow the markets are ok with it, then it'll be stock market 2.0 and to the moon it'll go (they'll print more and more tethers to further inflate the price)..

That's a big if.. if tethers are destroyed (as they should be, the company is a complete fraud).. the the price of BTC is inflated even at it's current price. The real price of bitcoin (as in price without the fraud) is anyone's guess, but my guess is around $1-3k.

"Only invest what you can afford to lose." I did and made almost 20x

So in the worst case also it will not go to 0 by the end of the year. Also, in case it goes to real price what will be approx annual increase thereafter ?

If that money is something that will help me in paying my rents and other things then I would withdraw them.
But if those are extra money which I can also forget about just let them accumulate.

IMO, there's too much fraud going on for me to invest. There's a say, "Bad money drives out Good" - which basically means that fraud will drive away legit. It's not just tether though, which is #1 issue right now.. it's that the exchanges are allowing spoofing/wash trading - which further irritates the problem. Truth is no one knows the real value. It's kinda like where would the stock market be if the fed didn't continually push up the price? But it's worse than that. The underlying value of the stock market - the companies themselves - are tangible, they create real products that are in demand.. With bitcoin it's just an idea and some infrastructure. Another way to look at it is when bitcoing went from $100 to $1k - it came out in court proceedings against Mt. Gox that the exchange itself faked trades that pushed the price from $100 to $1k.

So what happens when you have a speculative investment that derives it's value on fraud? I dunno, but it's not something I want to put my money in.

Honestly, it's better to invest in yourself and in business ideas.

If you are selling something that is not degradable and that does not include cost in procuring it before selling , go with BTC.
Where will BTC go? wait and watch you'll love it.

That is kind of extra money only as I get paid by other clients in cash which is sufficient for expenses.

Bitcoin 40k in February, read it all here off the pros who live with their parents, genuine "Mr life experiencers" like Caleb Maddix.

got inside info, bitoin will quadrupedal it's price before it's sad demise due to govt regulation

Keeping a payment in bitcoin is the same as taking a payment in cash to the race track. That's fine if it is what you want to do, but it is essentially a gamble.

It is a gray area. It is feasible not only to time the market but to be "in time" in the market. So its not like playing a lottery machine but its also not an absolute to get big payoffs. Overall the amount of money made is the same as lost, since buying a coin implies a selling action also. So actually if you do great research into the jockeys, thats a great analogy.
