From Your Observation - Which Ecommerce Style Converts More - Minimal or Modern?

I'm trying to decide what theme should I use for my eCommerce store based on these two styles. Please share your views if you have any observations.

Highly depends on your niche from my point of view!

I have a fashion eCom store and I use a very modern, but still minimalistic style so that it looks artsy and appealing.

Other stores for toys for example should be a bit more flashy and with colour.

So it always depends on your niche!

@PLennart just reached this conclusion by myself - i'm in the jewelry niche and a combo between modern + minimal seems would be ideal. Still have to figure out how to arrange it.

Both are very nice as theme. It depends on how do they end up after you customise them with your own products, images, texts etc.

You can make easily screenshots of the whole page if you use screenshot extension or software.

I hate both demo's not that they are ugly but I like to see directly what kind of top sellers there are, offers, sales etc above the fold.

I thought first of using Lightshot which I have installed on my computer but as I started I realized that it would take 4-5 screenshots to capture the whole design. So, linking to them was better.

You mean Carousel type of shop ?

What type of jewelry are you selling? Is this hand-made artisan jewelry or factory /bulk produced? What is the average price-range for a piece?

Then comes the question who are you targeting (age, income, lifestyle, education, country, and so on.).

My 2 cents would be to have a clear picture about this first and then start with product imagery and compliment this with strong, well researched typography.

As a starting point for this, keep in mind that a maximum of 3 font families on a page is something you could get away with, but in general a combination of two font-families seems to be the magic number.

After this you will need to start thinking about a complementary color scheme. Once you have this in place you will need to focus on removing stuff that does not contributes to the overall design, since the adage “less is more” is always applicable.
