Bitgrail S.r.l. Informs its users that internal checks revealed unauthorized transactions which led to a 17 million Nano shortfall, an amount forming part of the wallet managed by Bitgrail S.r.l.
Today a charge about those fraudulent activities has been submitted to the competent authorities and now is under police investigation.
We inform you that the other currencies have not been involved.
In order to conduct further verifications, all the activities will be temporarily suspended (including withdrawals and deposits). This procedure is indispensable for users security.
We do offer our full and sincerest apologies to our customers and to whom has been involved into the illegal transfers of Nano occurred on our platform.
Other announcements will be released shortly.

Dodged the bullet by selling it to BTC the second something smelt fishy last week, but didn't withdraw. My gut says all other Cryptos are fucked within BitGrail. Can't even access your wallet.

I have good reason to believe the crypto market will be huge in a few years. By huge I mean 20-50 trillion. But none of these "lambo moon boy get rich in a week" people are gonna hodl. Just means more room for me to accumulate.

As I recall XRB had no withdrawal fees from that market to the raiwallet online.
Not a good idea to hold any significant amount of crypto in an exchange. Especially one that's not very well known.
Interested in seeing where this goes. Before the announcement, some people were saying that bitgrail was insolvent because a lot of users got extra XRB/Nano during trades and were able to withdraw them.

I think it might not necessarily be a BitGrail issue. Articles have been posted online in the past explaining how XRBs advantage of faster transactions than BTC has also created huge security flaws (such as double spending and voting manipulation)! So i would not be surprised if these are now being exposed.

I'm even more surprised that in some subreddit posts and forums people are already posting Bitgrail's owner's address, personal photos, and so on.
