I just got two backlinks on some high DA websites with my article. How long does it take for these to start working?

Anywhere from immediately to a week so, generally.

Google search "site:yoururl.com/path-to-the-article" and you can see whether Google has indexed your URL. If it's indexed, they're certainly aware of it. Google not yet having found your links is the biggest reason why it can take time for backlinks to impact rankings. Although rankings can still jump around after that.

It depends on how powerful that link really is. If you use the old metrics like PR , a PR6-9 would have immediate effect on your site - it can contribute value within 24 hours to perhaps 5 days time - depending on which weekly update cycle that your site falls into on that specific search engine.
Otherwise, if a weak link - PR1-3 those may take 5 days to 2 weeks for the search engine to get noticed, and it may contribute a little to your site's overall ranking - which also depends on which weekly update cycle the search engine performs - I noticed there are 2 update cycles per week which is noticeable.

Max a week keep a check thru AHREFs

wut? id say about a month.

also, you wont feel the effects if your domain just appeared in the index. the power from backlinks will be there, but you wont feel it till ur domain ages in the index a little bit

10-15 days normally, but if you do ping or submit on google then it will can be soon.

It can take a few days, or a few weeks, or sometimes a few months.

It may take a couple of weeks to impact in the SERP. Sometimes no changes in the movement since it has been just a 2 links.

This depends on both your website and where you're receiving the links from. It can take anywhere from a few days to 1 or even 2 months to make a difference in SERP, happened to me recently with a new/fresh website.

What do you mean by "start working"? Working as in influencing how your website ranks on the search results pages? I would agree that it could take several months to notice any real difference if they are indeed from authoritative sites. It also depends greatly on the number of links the competition has - remember, you're not alone in the index!

If it's a good site google crawls it often. That means it will surely see your link in a week. However, the time google takes it into account as a good backlink might take more weeks, as google has been really slow on it recently.
