Well the title saids it all pretty much. I just recently turned 18 and I make decent money online (Mid XX,XXX)... I don't wanna go to college and I really don't wanna move anywhere around the US. So, I thought I would consider a new country! Thailand seems to be cheap and nice. Any thoughts or opinions? Anybody currently living there that could give me a few good idea where I can set up?

If you have the money, buy a ticket and visit for a few weeks and see how you like it.

Thats a great advice. I always vist for a week or 2 a new town or country where Id like to relocate and see if it fits my needs and desires for that new place.

Im now looking for a new 'exotic' country to relocate as in europe the winter season is coming and darn.I hate cold :D I consider Thailand and Malayesia as well.

Koh phangan on a full moon. see if you like it.

Koh tao scuba dioving. see if you like it.

A week in pattaya. see if you like it.

A week in bangkok. see if you like it.

A week on an one of the smaller islands where you can live on the beach for $4/night. see if you like it.

You get the idea ;)

av8sean has the best advice. Go visit for a few weeks and see if you like it. Be prepared to be ripped the fuck off and you should do alright

This is my plan, I want to move for 3-4 months over the next summer.

Get a degree first and then move out cause if your business fails you are doomed.

thailand...i dunno, its cheap i hear but if you dont know what you are doing you will get ripped off from cabs, landlords, cops, even the girls will tear a big hole in your wallet, ....but that could be said of any country ....i'd visit there first to get a good idea...personally i'd go to japan...

I already have two degrees. I've been out of school since 14.

Hi,
i live in Thailand. 2 years already. :D

Now i stay in Phuket. If you need some informations contact me.

I can tell you how can make VISA easy.

You are welcome. :tee:

THAILAND IS AMAZING.

Agree with themarper 100%. I have several friends who moved there from the US and are very happy there. I was in Bangkok when the Tsunami hit a few years back and ended up hanging out in Pattaya instead of flying to Phuket. Stay away from Pattaya!(unless you like lot's of great looking girls :)

studio in oahu and study there college has open air classes at least thats my aim one day

Thailand is good. You're right. Everything is cheap and nice over there. I'm from Malaysia and I personally love Thailand but depending which part of Thailand you wanna stay at. I suggest Phuket because it is a very nice place and peaceful. For Malaysia, you might consider Penang Island. Do some short research or if you need any information regarding Malaysia, just PM me.

Although you want to stay only 3-4 month, have a budget of at least USD1500/m for one year. However, depending on your activities, you might need twice of that.

The budget for 1 year helps you if you suddenly decide to stay longer. Thailand is very nice, and perhaps the heaven if you have the money, but if you run out of it you'll get into real trouble. Thailand does not particular like poor overstaying foreigners.

Make sure that you always can get money from outside Thailand as a backup.

That all said, Thailand is nice!! Travel around, from north to south (or visa versa) and check it out, but be aware of some nice yet very hungry waterholes

You may contact me if you are there or almost on the way. Perhaps we can meet us some day in Bangkok.

Hi, i am a Thai native. I was living in Australia and England for a long time to study and came back 8 years ago. For a Thai person, Thailand sucks, there is not much to do! But i had a few english friends came over and they really enjoy their time here. Specially, the whore house, beautiful girls there will take care of you like you are a king for only $40.

To me, i like Australia most. People are just so nice and calm. Here is quite crazy, everything seems crazy. If you like excitment may be Thailand is for you.

Take the good advice, visit here for a while and see if you and live with the heat over here. The best part is that most girls like white men (sorry to say that but it is the truth), so you be like a prince here. Other than that i think you already know. Best of Luck!

My brother was going to Australia but he was one or two points short of the VISA

2 Words!

Do it!

I go to Phuket every year for about 2 weeks , When i'm at home in Australia I'm always anxious to get back and want to go there for a year or so and drop out , But I get too home sick . Bangkok is fucking madness .
My best times in Phuket is burning around on the motorbikes exploring , the nitelife can get a bit painful and old . You get sick of being hassled for suits and fucking tuk tuk rides all the time.

If you go to Patong look for my name on the Aussie flag in the Sailor bar ;)
