I had a few articles written up that don't make sense on my direct blog as it's a recommendation for my site, but they are okay and it would provide a backlink.

It could work as a guest post. It's one of those "10 signs to look for in a _____" type of deal.

Well if the quality is good enough for a guest post, then I would go for that first. Otherwise, you could use them for Web 2.0 / PBNs.

Or Reddit might work too.

I suggest a PBN as well. This is what I have done in the past with some of the lower quality Fiverr articles I've had written up in batches. I pop them into Hemingway and do a lot of modifications, and by the end of it the two articles are different enough to not trigger copyscape, so I put the original up on a PBN.

Web 2.0 if you want it "for free", but you should build links to it, to make the backlink count more. PBN is a good option, but if you don't own one, it's more difficult. Guest posting if you find someone who wants to publish the article.

You could even use these as descriptions on YouTube, depending on how long they are and if you have a video plan in action.

Other ideas - PDF submission. Record yourself reading the text and using it as description on a "podcast" on Soundcloud. Bonus: Film yourself and use video for Youtube and then extract audio for "podcast" and use text as description. Use it to answer Quora or Yahoo.... Lots of creative ways to use content for cheap (free) diversity links.
