Long story short, I transferred some eth from my wallet to a smart contract (plain dumb).
The transaction failed (TxReceipt Status:Fail) but I didn't get back the eth to my wallet.
Just wondering if anyone knows if my eth is lost forever?
If the contract is not programmed to return your ETH, it is gone forever.
as in you tried to join an ico but it had already sold out? in that case your eth should be returned minus whatever gas you paid. if you just sent it to some random contract address that isn't set up to return failed transactions then i think you've lost your ether
F**k. Even if the transaction has failed?
Could I contact the contract address to get my ether back?
Paste the transaction ID onto https://etherscan.io/ and see what you get. Is it green?
It's red actually. And the transaction was canceled too from etherscan. But neither of the wallet nor the smart contract has my ether. Super frustrating. Any tips from you as to how do I go about reclaiming this lost ether?
