Is anyone paying attention? If you're in it only for the money - sure, it can be made, but realize it is a game of musical chairs. If you're a "believer" - then I've really got nothing to say to you other than try to be a little more skeptical and hopefully you'll learn something.

Why am I saying this is all a scam?

Ever heard of Mt. Gox? Well, according to it's owner, it was "hacked" for quite a bit of bitcoins some years ago. Now, the owner did not disclose that 'the hackers' had stolen some 600k bitcoins (or whatever the obscene amount was) for some time. But during the time between the hack and when the hack was disclosed to the public - bitcoin went up from $100 to roughly $1k (then crashed when the hack was made public). (read up more about this here: https://cointelegraph.com/news/mt-gox-trial-update-karpeles-admits-willy-bot-existence)

What's so interesting about this story? Nothing.. except for the fact that Mr Karpales (owner of mt gox) - recently admitted to the japanese prosecutors that he ran some fake trading bots to artificially drive the price of bitcoin from $100 to $1000.. He said he did it in an attempt to cover the losses incurred from the alleged hack.

Think about that for a second. How could an exchange manipulate the price of bitcoin so much - and without spending a cent? Well, it's simple.. Exchanges are telling you what the price of bitcoin is going for. It's very easy if it's just 1 exchange.. If it's multiple, it would require some collusion between the exchanges..

Then you have guys like https://twitter.com/bitfinexed - pointing out obvious schemes and people really just don't care.

This is all bullshit, guys. The 'block chain' isn't worth billions of dollars - sorry. It's an unregulated market - think of those wolf of wall street guys in the movie. Or that ben afleck movie? In the stock market, pump and dumps are illegal (even if they do occur)

So, can you make some money? Sure. But you might as well go to the nearest casino and put it all on black or red at this point, because I think this bubble is about to burst.

OP the creation of bitcoin is also a scam and there is no future.

Crypto is the future, its decentralized and new technology. End of argument, i don't want to hear of such nonsense.

Crypto is very much centralized. If you believe otherwise you're a fool and you don't understand the very basics. As for you declaring this the end of argument - you've not got the authority to say that.

wow so we reached that point of the conspiracy theory ?

sorry op, but your posts are full of nonsense

Well, if you judge me by my avatar, i finally understand why you believe so easily on a conspiracy theory about crypto.
I don't have anything to explain apart from the fact that what you're saying seems totally wrong to me. However i would like you to explain your 'very basics' that transform the crypto system into a centralized one.

Please, tell me who controls crypto (and i don't mean influences, because surely whales can move things quite easily, but really from A to Z) ?

Sorry OP, you're an idiot. Crypto is here to stay. Some crypto currencies will rise, some will fall. Some will have real world applications in the next couple of decades but make no mistake, crypto is going NOWHERE, especially not Bitcoin. Embrace this technological revolution or don't, it won't make any difference to me and everyone else who can see just how huge crypto is going to be.

What happens when all the Bitcoins get mined, I read that more than 80% have already been mined and the Satoshi algorithm restricts the total number. Also a large amount of BTC is held by just a few entities, so it does look like manipulation. Regarding Cryptos in general, why would one crypto be worth more than the other? After all it is just a string of numbers and now there are so many of them. And if everybody starts using BTC imagine the power requirement of maintaining the multiple distributed ledgers and mining. So a lot of questions remain unanswered for an outsider to BTC.

Bitcoins don’t exist. Have you ever seen one in person or held one?

Physical bitcoins exist. Bitcoin is no more or less "real" than official currency. Bills and coins are made of worthless materials and most money is just a number in a digital bank account, sort of like a bitcoin wallet.

No. You are wrong.

finaly someone use his brain :)) When you send money to another bank account your bank doesnt send the real money just some numbers .... Same like bitcoin same like other crypto

Okay guys, seriously? What is with all this hating going on in this thread? Why the cursing? Why can't we just have a normal discussion using the right words and not just the "idiot"-related words? Is it that hard?

Back on topic, I pretty much agree with the OP. This whole market is based on speculations and to be honest there is nothing behind all of this. Will it go down? No, at least not that soon, too much money are in-the-game. This surely didn't come just like that so it can disappear the same way.
Real money, you work for them to can have them.
Coins, you (most of them) mine them, to can have them. Any difference?

I have same opinion. This is perfect example how people are make money from air. And believe me this is not future, this all scam is working way more than crypto and I`am talking about stock market. When people who's investing in some shady company as some shady dude says yes invest, you will double your money after few year. Any experienced stock trader can say, stock market whose created that simple people can lose their money. Now it is crypto market. I know few dudes both bitcoin for 18k and lost nearly 16k in one month, my friend have 10 bitcoins, he both when price whose 8k, so he is not sleeping now. Yes you can make money, but belewe my you can make more money from website and mobile apps, belewe my this will gonna be better investment then in crypto.

If blockchain isnt worth billions howcome Dubai will prosper if they're changing all their government systems into blockchain till 2022 If I remember well?
Ofc IT IS a bubble like dotcoms were, but hey do you remember that google, microsoft, IBM, yahoo! and rest were IN the dotcom bubble? These companies which will survive would be so fckin rich and investors will get their rewards, thats what I think

I was being facetious.

I think the OP assumes everyone who is buying bitcoins believes in its future. I buy bitcoins to make money. Where I come from the color of money is green. Should the day come when I no longer find myself converting bitcoins to USD, then I’ll care.

thats why Im mining BTC instead of hodl. Only 2 reasons i can loose are: my mining pool will be closed or btc will fall much under 1k$ which wont happen this year I belive (even If ppl wont use btc in the future, whales gonna pump it hardly I think :) )

the crypto market may be rigged and manipulated and mscams do happen. But crypto TECHNOLOGY is here to stay. Focus on the products.
