Try adding more ram, or talk to the bot developer and ask how you can optimize your VPS to run multiple copies of the bot.

You answered your own question.. Its an I7 processor converted into VPS server, which means a lot of users are using the same processor cores which is resulting in low performance.

Try to find a VPS host that is running on server grade processors like Xeon E5 or similar... You should see a significant improvement..

Even if he adds more ram it wont change anything, its a low end processor to be utilized as a VPS Server. The performance would always be bad depending on how much users they have on that server node, which i am guessing is not only 2-3 VPS`s..

Just make sure to ask what CPU does the server have before purchasing a VPS.
Stay away from i7 or similar processors, also it doesnt have to be from a big provider, smaller providers tend to have smaller number of users which is better for VPS performance since servers are not oversold..

It the ram and speed of the threads from the internal chip.

As said your need more powerfull chip to run same app many times.

Unfortunatey you only get what you pay for , you said your on a budet , can you just use the bot in one machine and when earnt get another vps and keep building up .....
 
how many virtual CPUs are in this VPS ? If it is having less than 4 than upgrade to 4 or 6 core VCPUs vps.

windows 2008 R2 is better for such tools , i have had the same problem in win 2016 .
 
i might be able to recommend windows hosting if i know what you pay for with specs. I am talking of budget hosting only.
 
I set the priority of the process to low is task manager

    • Only exception I can see here is if they made you aware of their hardware specs up front.
  • I have two home built servers with that CPU you named in my closet.
  • A professional setup is hosted in a data center on a rack with 6-16 blades.
The difference between i7 and Xeon using technologies:

  • VT-d
...On a real platform versus a virtual machine software like virtualbox (desktop grade) or VMware (desktop grade) is nothing short of a NIGHT and DAY difference.
Real VPS servers will use VMware ESXi, VMware ESX, Microsoft Hyper-V and Citrix XenServer (all server grade systems & technologies).

If you're running "a slice" on a REAL VPS with hardware such as this:
  • Dual Xeon E5-2660's
  • 128GB RAM
  • 1TB+SSD

The performance is considered to be the "norm".
FYI.. the HIGH END servers run 48/64 cores, Dual Xeon E5-2660's = 16 cores.

While OVH is great, one thing you gotta remember though... they sell to EVERYONE.

A couple helpful tidbits:
  • OVH charges $5-10 more per month for Windows VPS
  • They do not offer 4 cores on their SSD VPS Page
    • Special requests and pricing will get you this.
  • Using OVH may get you parked next to a Ranked Google Page 1 porn site.
  • OVH very popular for: seedbox, torrent - not gonna say anymore...
