Going with the current set of time spent on this forum by most of regular members (in my case is 12+ hours daily) suggest to build a forum app for ease of use by all members.

It gets difficult to open browser on phone again and again, hence app will make browsing easier.

Suggestions?

Liked the suggestion. Let us see what the staff thinks about it.

I would welcome an app. My only concern would be the level of functionality that may be lost.

It’s not a new suggestion, it has been suggested before and I just don’t see the need for it.

Developing an app is not cheap and it’s not going to offer much in the way of functionality that the mobile site doesn’t already offer.

It will basically just save you a few clicks at best, is it really so hard to open a browser instead?

Sorry about posting in wrong section.

Since there are so many similar requests in past couple months pls consider this request and build an app.

Look forward to a favorable response

Yeah. It would be a great help fir me if i had someone to type in the url and possibly scroll through the pages for me.
Glad that you are fine with switching on the computer on your own.

The app will be basic because this site is limited , cheap bbcode forum. It can only ever be a webview app, not proper Native.

Highly doubt it will happen. Mobile site is much better than it used to be, functionality would be lost building an app and the cost would be ridiculous.

How hard is it to open a web browser on your phone anyway? Last time I checked you just tapped on the browser icon on the screen, pretty much the same as you would with an app!!

What exactly would be different?

The site was optimised for mobile some time back when it was redesigned. It took me a while to get used to it (because their used to be a few different apps at various points in time) but I find it pretty easy to use now from mobile.

And automatically removes all the newbie " review copy please " on every sales threads

This.

How opening an app (the non-existent BHW app) would be easier than opening a browser, which is also an app? Who closes the browser anyway? How exactly would the browsing of BHW become faster in an app than using a web browser, which is designed for browsing? lol
This reasoning is lame, OP.

As it was mentioned already, some site functionality would be lost inevitably and it couldn't offer more than the existing mobile optimized version. So what would be the point?

Make a shortcut to BHW on your home screen, OP, as someone suggested above.

You don't have to type in the url every time tho, save the forum as a bookmark.

If you are spending 12 or more hours per day on BHW and not selling a service or putting any of the concepts to use, you are doing something very, very wrong.

Regarding a BHW mobile app, there was a time long ago when the site used Tapatalk for mobile integration: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/new-mobile-app.577055/#post5697688.

However, Tapatalk started to act buggy, so Damien's team pulled it and moved it to Topify instead: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/topify-review.580447/

Users complained for hundreds of posts about lack of functionality, bugs, and that they prefer to just use their mobile browser. With the Xenforo update, BHW is very much mobile responsive. I have doubts that administration is going to give this the "third time's a charm" approach, and I don't blame them a bit.

The mobile site is fast, smooth, and works just as well as the desktop version. As @kickthat, @sturose, @davids355 and others said, it works great, worst case add a shortcut for the bookmark to your home screen and you won't have to type in the URL any more if that is the issue.
