Most places in the world have internet. Projects like https://substratum.net/ which are trying to make a decentralized internet seems much more promising to me.

The main question remains: what's the price?

I can get 4g worldwide for $10 per gig without changing my sim at all. Again while options may be limited don't think they will just stand still while this develops....

If this is a lot cheaper then maybe, what about convenience?

You can easily Buy Local SIM cards almost there any airport I've been to pretty quick and cheap. While still more inconvenient than the option I'm currently using obviously it depends also on price if this one here is not cheap then it's all in my also be inconvenient then what's the point in getting this versus a local sim

You mean for users visiting europe , as there are no more roaming (yes I understand there always are some sort of hoops here) charges for EU SIM users so don't think they will have an incentive to use.

Remember would you rather pay slightly more but keep using the same SIM not having to buy local SIMs and possibly recharging? This will only be big if it is very cheap, otherwise convenience will win for many

Agreed, it's all a gamble as long as this is not seen as revolutionary. By the time this likely goes live there will be other solutions. But yeah as c long as there is money to be made short term who cares
