rank a site that I copied with Winhttrack?

Hi,

I am planning a total blackhat way of earning using Winhttrack.

I will copy a lucrative website with it and try to rank higher with more keywords.

My question is,

Is that possible?
If Google finds out that the contents are the same, I will be punished and can't rank?

This technique is from the early 2000's. It worked back then, not any more.

Agreed with other commenters.. there's zero chance that you will rank. It's a red flag duplicate content issue and as it has already been mentioned.. you will have to rewrite all the content or at minimum spin it, but even so if you're going to have to go through such a headache, you're better off just starting off fresh anyway.

If it were me, I'd just figure out what the best performing pages are and keywords they were ranking for using tools like Ahrefs or Semrush and then use more of a skyscraper method to try to outrank the competing site.

Additionally, I wouldn't do this on a new domain. I'd want to find a domain that is aged "ideally with some established authority" so that I'm not starting from ground zero which will hopefully level the ranking field a bit better for the niche and keywords you're attempting to rank for.
