You think Ripple is done? think again.

Hater? I was the third reply to this thread stating I've bought a couple thousand.

I simply asked why you are convinced about this. I have not seen any official statements in support of the fact it's being added and, on the contrary, I have actually seen a lot of evidence against it.

While recognizing the potential to make money on this trade (As I already have) I am not under any impressions that Ripple is a particularly good currency. I mean, I can see the controlling aspect of it being appealing to Amazon, but I do not like that personally one bit.

Ludacris.

Don't get me wrong, I hate when @Sherb throws around the word "Bubble" but does Ripple's price increase feel deserved to you, or is it all because of threads like this and unfounded hype?

Coinbase caters to a very "noob-ish" audience who throw in some change to dabble with. The last thing Coinbase wants is for Ripple to collapse and its users to lose a LOT of money. They are somewhat an authority (Using the term loosely) in the fact that they are very selective about the coins that they add & they're not adding every single pump and dump there is.

Before, your point was they will add Ripple because they want to make more money. If this was the case, they would add every coin they can. But they haven't. Because of the reason stated above.

Sometimes, too much of an increase is actually a bad thing.

---

Anyway, I went back through the thread, like you said to try and find this conclusive evidence that Ripple will be added to Coinbase...

No, Amazon is not a scam, but it is highly regulated & hype / P&D is not possible at such a large scale, unlike with Crypto.

Besides centralization, why would Ripple be picked over RaiBlocks or another DAG coin for banking?

Ripple simply can't keep up with the TPS & there would be no real reason why banks would slow down their service just to accept Ripple.

I work at a safety-critical software company & I can tell you now, the process for changing almost any supporting system is almost always far more work than it is worth. Changing 1 thing means you have to change another xx. This takes years & devs have to be 100% sure the tech is reliable and more importantly 100% covered.

You mentioned that you think it will hit $5 in Feb, and MAYBE $10 in 2019. If the hype is about the partnerships, why isn't it happening closer to them being realistic?

IMO this whole thing was fuelled from "We will partner with 2 household names." Means nothing to me. What's a household name? Are they going to partner up with Hoover & start selling Vaccum cleaners, or Amazon and shoot up in price, even more? It's 100% in his interest to be purposflly vague. I mean, shit, look at how much he is worth now.

This is honestly the first time I agree with @Sherb.
Well something is REALLY strange right now, because here I am agreeing with you as well.

on the contrary, I have actually seen a lot of evidence against it.

Sorry, forgot to elaborate on this point.

Elav to ur question
Theyll pick ripple for the same reason amex, many banks, and even google ventures (look it up ) picked ripple.

Among all the reasons i wrote in this thread, being centralized is one of the huge advantages. Thats what u dont get

Banks wont use monero to transer millis and billis lol

You’re losing all credibility.

I already agreed it’s a good coin to make money, but I am questioning your logic and all I get it “I made. x% so I’m right”

I was up 60,000% on my ANS investment yesterday. Does that mean I’m right and you’re wrong?

Not necessarily. But at least I gave a valid argument.

The banks are looking at it because it's just like normal fiat. Where's the advantage in adding another USD or EUR or AUD? It's a hypetrain. If it does the exact same fucking thing as all of the normal currency, why would everyone run to it?

You guys are treating this shit like the stock market, but stocks represent the value of ... actual companies.

Meanwhile, the crypto market represents mainstream blog hype, as it's barely a fucking currency, if no one uses it. Sure you can make money with the volatility, but how exactly do you think people are on board with it being the future of currency, when milk could cost 1 ripple, or 37 ripple, depending on how many idiots bought ripple in the previous hour?

Do me a favor, prove me wrong that it has any god damned function in the real world, and go film yourself swiping your ripple card at the gas station for fuel. Or show me a payment processor that accepts ripple online, to something of actual value. Even doing this with bitcoin is a challenge, and it's the main "currency".

Please, God, I promise to go to church on Sundays if you make this a reality.

Not necessarily bad news. It's just not going to get added for now. I don't think people were buying based on the idea it would be added, despite rumors.

After the BCH disaster, Coinbase knows they are not ready to add any new coins anytime soon. They haven't even got the other orders books going for BCH yet, and their entire navigation UI will have to be revamped if they add one more coin. Their current design wasn't well thought out for adding lots of coins and was probably designed when they started 4 years ago.

Not to mention they are facing class action lawsuits for transfer problems, have infrastructure problems that can't handle the load, hiring people like crazy, etc.

Not a good time for them to be adding any new coins and I'm sure all these recent problems have changed their roadmap significantly.

Sorry, this won't be some sort of well thought out thesis like observation or reply, I just wanted to drop in and say
Why does this Thread have a weirdo cult-like feel to it?

Except banks are not using the XRP token. They are using the Ripple technology. The two are not one and the same. This is what the majority of investors in XRP fail to understand and it is why XRP's value has been inflated beyond all reason. Do you really think banks will use a token to facilitate their $ billions worth of transactions on a daily basis when its value fluctuates even as low as 1% on a daily basis, let alone 30-50% swings in a single day, when instead they can use their own closed-circuit token and still benefit from the advantages offered by Ripple technology? Once people that FOMO'd into this centralized piece of turd in the past couple of months realize this very important fact, this coin is going to take a huge dump on everyone that is still holding their bags faster than you can say "bubble".

He lost that 22 pages ago.....

Weren't you saying that XRP will replace BTC a few pages ago, even though XRP is not intended to be a p2p currency? You are one of the people I am talking about above. Sorry, not sorry.
