Recently we've had suggestions various members here on BHW about the content that appears on the homepage.
@nuf-ced made an argument about introduction the introduction threads in https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/remove-introductions-forum.961909/page-2#post-10292341
@vinku more recently made an argument about the cryptocurrency section in https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/blackhat-world-blackhat-seo-forum-home-page.998980/
However, as @Zwielicht mentioned, simply stating we don't like it isn't a persuasive argument. So here's my opinion on the matter.
We're at a point in time where curated content is becoming king. Whether it's your news feed on Facebook or the explore page on Instagram, companies are finding better ways to give the users content they want. Content tailored for them.
I suggest having checkboxes next to each section on the homepage or somewhere in our account settings where we have the ability to enable and disable certain sections. It would create a better user experience here on the forum as we'd be able to block out a lot of the noise we don't want to hear based on our own preferences. I'm sure some people love the crypto section, they should be able to see it on the home page. And yes, there are others who thrive on welcoming people to this awesome community. I'm just saying we should have a say in what we see and what we don't, and my suggestion makes it happen in a way where everyone is happy.
As for marketplace threads, those should always be enabled simply because they pay to be listed.
