My friend wants to buy a laptop for around $500-600. I suggested him a lenovo but I've only used 1 and I'm not sure how the rest of them run. He's not going to be gaming, he'll be using it for internet marketing. Any suggestions?

Find old Asus k73sv with i7 :) little hard to find them but with 500$ you can buy 3 laptops like that now.

i7 2670qm - full 4 cores
nvidia built geforce 540m (not enough for new games but Battlefield 3 and 4 works)
8gb ddr3
ssd
I am using it for 2011, zero problems, it works here 24h/7 like some horse

If you are looking for old laptops, look with second gen i7. Maybe some expandable to 16gb ram

Lenovo ftw. Been using the same $600 one for 3.5 years and still get everything done on it. No HP overheating and no misc issue like some Asus ones can have.

I'll check it out thanks.

I am not an affiliate of this site nor have I used it. But I heard mixed reviews most being pleasant & they give a 1-year warranty on your purchase which is always good.
Nothing wrong with a used laptop.

I'll take a look thanks!

I also suggest Lenovo, the business class ThinkPad series.
But not new Lenovos! My father have bough, BIOS has been damaged after guarantee. We have sent it to reflashing and what? Lenovo covered bios chip with huge portion of glue.

Lenovo T430, T530 or W530. These are older models, but you can upgrade it and you will have a machine for the eternity. The build quality, keyboard is still good on those, on the newer ones it's not so good anymore unfortunately. If you know your way around rebuilding, get a stronger i5 or i7 processor (pay attention to the appropriate generation), if you run Win 10 get at least 8 GB DDR3 RAM and replace the HDD with an SSD. If it's for IM, you won't need a high end GPU in the vast majority of cases (unless it includes stuff like video editing, graphics design), the built-in Intel will do just fine. If you're not into rebuilding, you can find good as new refurbished ones on eBay in your price range.

I have an Acer Swift 3 and I love it. It's very similar to the design of the MacBook Pro.

Thanks for the help
