Cryptocurrency Forum Section

Not sure how many will agree or disagree with this suggestion but there's a small change that I I'd like to see that I believe will make the forum a bit more organized.

Let's begin:

1. Much like the Content/Copywriting section, I believe that there needs to be a section dedicated to Cryptocurrencies.
2. Cryptocurrency threads that receive a new post aren't displayed on the home page.
3. A sticky thread in this section will provide some insight on how Cryptocurrencies work and will offer some insight on how trading/buying/selling takes place and potential risks involved. This sticky will cover most questions that anyone can have related to Crypto resulting in much less "How do I buy BTC?" type threads.

Many times I like to browse the home page for IM related posts (we're on a marketing forum after all) but most of the time half the threads are somehow related to Crypto in one form or the other.

I feel that implementing these changes will help to clean up the forum a bit while making it easier for members to find what they're searching for.

Not sure if this is a feasible request or if the community would even support this but no idea is a bad idea so I decided to lay my thoughts out on the table.

I recommended allowing users to filter what they see on the homepage a long time ago and the idea was shot down then.

As to the stickies, that's a good idea, but that's for the members to write, not the admins.

I think one or more sticky threads is a good idea. I am sure if you or anyone else put together a decent enough post about the topic then it could be made into a sticky.

I personally don't think its good idea to remove posts from the homepage feed - I know its a bit annoying sometimes with so many crypto threads popping up, but thats because its a popular topic. And I pretty much only browse from bhw homepage so if those threads didnt show up I would miss out on them.

Yea, user configurable homepage, that would be a great idea as far as I am concerned.

I think they should just jib it all off. Full of 99% gobshites, shit talkers, the Nishat, Floates, and Mullens of the internet. Basically a shit stain on BHW.

I don't mind the threads that are discussing a particular coin. It's the "How do I buy?" threads or the threads posted on a particular coin when there were multiple threads created the same day for the same coin that become a bit annoying to see over and over again.

@Zwielicht is great at merging threads/ moving them to the right section. If you report the post/ contact him, it'll be fixed in no time.

Yes, he and all MODs do an excellent job but sometimes managing all of these types of threads can be an overwhelming task (I would imagine anyways).

I'm going to work on a couple of in-depth guides that will hopefully help the community while making it easier for the staff (since there should be at least a slight reduction in the types of threads being posted that I referenced above).

My method to keep my homepage feed free of crypto crap is to ignore everyone who starts a new crypto thread. That way even if thousands of crypto kiddies reply to the thread I never see it because I ignored the OP who started the thread.

Yeah, I don't mind merging threads when several people create a thread on the exact same topic.

In my opinion, we don't need crypto section here. We have bitcointalk with 2x more members than BHW.
It's nothing blackhat in crypto except scam schemes. It's about money but same way we should make:
gold investing, real estate investing, farm business or monkey generators

Yeah!! Most of the threads are discussing bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Mostly are working on bitcoin.
