Newbie Question - Are Backlinks From Article Websites Relevant?

Was just wondering because a few years ago ppl were killing it with backlinks from these article websites where you post your article and a backlink to your site

are these still relevant nowadays? if so, which one do u use?

They are good for diversity still. You won't increase your rankings with them alone tho.

Both anchor text and nofollow/********.

That’s how I found this site, it started by searching for ‘search codes’ which landed me on a article site that lead me to a page in the forum for ScrapeBox. What happened next, they sucked $97 plus more out of my bank account
