Penalty because of Scholarship links seems so so vague and naive.

Also, a good move by the ones who have influence in the SEO niche blogs. Many will stop using this method and will again create space for others.

amazed to see so many people bashing the kid for selling the site. Every single one of you would have done the same. He isnt a fuckin psychic to knew beforehand that the penalty is coming. That was good business. It involved a person who KNOWS what she is doing. It involves a third party site that helped closing the deal. Empireflippers too vetted the site. It wasnot like the guy was hiding something and the other 2 parties were unable to find it.

Also the price was ok when u consider the monthly average. Usually when you sell a site, you take 12 months average and then multiply it by 12 and that is your sales price. So the deal was fine and fair.

You are quite new to this aren't you. Very often (may not be the case) sites that get hit, drop, rise back up, then drop like shit.

Well for one, it hasn't been de-indexed, it has just dropped a lot of traffic.

And two, it is very common for a site that has been slapped, to lose positions on the first page, to page 2 / 3, regain positions, then completely drop.

I'm also shocked someone paid 600k for it. I was under the impression that the website made a lot more than it actually did.

His site was penalized, he loosed all of his rankings and somehow managed to get back on track within 4 days.

I think the strong link profile is key to recovery,
strong links from sites who made him good marketing and links,just because he reveal revenue and some basic how to things.
