Hey Folks,

I'm a content writer and have a WP hip hop blog and iTunes podcast that I've been doing for the last two years. I've only recently got into affiliate marketing as a way to monetize the website. I promote using FB primarily since I get a lot of traffic there and the occasional reddit post.

I've only recently upgraded the website to display banner ads. The ads are getting impressions but the CTR seems rather low. I'm looking to increase traffic and going to do another Ad Words spend soon but want quality traffic.

I'm looking for different ways to monetize. I'm on Google Adsense. And different Affiliate programs (e.g. ShareaSale, Audible's podcast program, and iTunes affiliate's program). As well as a Donate through PayPal and Patreon account and created merch through Teespring.

Advice? I want more user engagement. People don't have to buy necessarily just yet I would like more interactions.

Have you tried influencer marketing? This is by collaborating with influencers who are famous bloggers and very known on social media platforms - FB, Instagram, YouTube, etc.

Not yet. I may approach some Instagram followers to wear some hoodies that I'm selling. Problem is finding the right influencer. My demo is Males between 25 and 34.

Do you have any recommendations for a specific platform to find Influencers?

I recommend using Phlanx - the site has influencer directory and collaborations portal. Check it out and see if it helps

Tried it out today. It's a paid platform. But I did register for their 30 Day free trial. Not really want I'm looking for since most influencers on there are models for fashion blogs. There are a couple that might work though but I'd rather scour YT and look for free than pay for this platform. Many of the influencers have business emails on their Insta or YT channel.

why don't you try creating a slack community for your users?

Don't discount Linkedin. If possible start a group related to your stuff and also join relevant groups. The traffic is high converting if you have quality content on offer.

Always thought Slack was primarily designed as a mobile app. I dled on my desktop to try it out. It may be useful for team members but Im just sure I could get fans of the FB page on it though I definitely can envision it working for engagement. Will have to build a bigger audience for this method to work tho.

Find related fb groups and share your site there

I do this already. Most of my traffic is from FB.

Not sure LinkedIN is the place to promote hiphop (e.g.streetwear fashio). However there may be a few groups , like music and marketing.

why don't you ask your existing hip hop fans where they usually frequent? what magazines they read, what blogs they're on. you might be able to do some guest interviews on other people's blogs or in various groups. I imagine you could also go to conferences like Complex Con and get a press pass
