I love efficiency, and my guess is so do you!

My comp has been a bit slower than id like lately, so i figured id find out whats wrong today. Found that Skype 7.40 was eating 20-30% of the CPU power, which is terrible. Whos got time for that?!

Problem is experienced by loots of people, https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...e/af055dfc-5ee6-4d21-bc6d-bb113e687a38?auth=1.

The fix? Download Skype 7.36 and set automatic updates off in the options!

To check if skype is hogging your CPU in windows, press ctrl-alt-del and go to Task Manager, check CPU% on skype in the list. If its above 3% youve got a problem, or a terrible terrible terrible computer lol.

Hmm or it's just your computer or internect connection.

My computer is already 5 years old and as we speak I got 55 tabs open in 2 different browsers and running Skype, Photoshop, Paint and MP still works fine here.

55 tabs => wow - whats your specs?

I use Skype for web now because their desktop client is so buggy.

Some computers have issues with skype version 7.40. What you are saying is like saying that sending 100 russian links to a site always works because it worked for me.

CPU usage was on 30% and laptop fan was running hot all the time, removed it and installed 7.36 now fan is quiet and cpu usage is 0-1%.

It's really nothing special.

AMD FX6300, 8gb ddr3 ram and a Tier 2 1gb videocard.

No, what I'm saying maybe you just got a slow computer and internet. I still have the stock cooler and it's going normal as always.

When was the last time you opened and cleaned your computer? Dust can be a killer.
