working on video downloading website. it is short videos 3-5MB size. using AWS free trial right now. i want a host ( not earning a penny so want cheap host ) that let me transfer 8-10 GB data daily.. don't know much about hosting stuff.

actually i am providing short funny videos and traffic increasing. i am providing single click download so can't host video files on the free server (i don't want popups ).

any help please....

( if i buy VPS. .then can i transfer unlimited data ?? )

Hey hardik,

let me tell you that there is not a hosting provide an unlimited data for their clients... so they use the term only to attract more users but if you check the term of use page I'm pretty sure that you'll find they said unlimited data depend on our resources or something like this anyway downloading website need a lot of resources but you can avoid all that shit by hosting your videos on youtube and make them unlisted then embalmed them on your website that's all

Ps: you can use any youtube alternative because youtube it becomes very serious with channel that re-upload videos from other source... there is dailymotion I have used it and it's less strict with copyright

What @CallMeKim said. You want 10GB per day bandwidth. That's 300 GB per month. A shared hosting account will suspend you if you get anywhere near this amount of bandwidth. Even ones who claim "unlimited." (there's no such thing).

You could go with a hosting plan that specifically states bandwidth in your range. I don't think any normal shared hosting account will meet your needs. One option would be to get a reseller account. And then don't use it to host other people's sites - just host your one site. There are reseller accounts that offer 500 GB per month bandwidth for about $25/month (maybe less, I haven't looked into it lately). That might work for you.

i have used youtube embed videos, but then it dont let users download it. or i need to redirect users to other website that let download the video. another thing with embed video is I am posting 20-30 videos in single page. and embeded videos take a lot time to load the page.

What you think about AWS ?.. i checked their prices . they are costing 0.09$ for 1GB data transfer.

use digitalocean or use google free cloud or free amazon aws
did you used AWS? i uploaded some files on AWS s3 and was working fine... yesterday when i checked .. my all folders from bucket and that folder's videos are gone... now there are 300+ text files listed in that bucket... and not able to create any new folder... can you help me with this ?

Try a cheap cloud vps server such as Vultr, linode. I personally use Vultr for my websites, happy with it so far.

As per previous replies, you will not the unlimited downloading with any of the host. There is limitation for the bandwidth and resources. SO when you will sing-up though the hosting service plan mention it as unlimited resources and bandwidth, there is never unlimited bandwidth and resources provided. Some limit is always there.

So though you have VPS you will need to set some limiting value.

Amazon AWS will be good.
i used amazon AWS but facing some issue... i created one bucket and uploaded my videos.. and now when i go to that bucket... am not able to find any video or folders created before and there are 300+ text files .. looks like something log files.

hey... i checked the Vultr pricing and its cheap... are you sure they let me host videos for downloading website... ? i mean is it ok to upload the videos to their server and people download from the direct link .. ? or they ban account like other hosts when we use high amount of bandwidth.. ?

Did u try to find what happened?
i contacted the support team but he said for technical issues you need to subscribe premium support.. something 29$ a month for support. .. i checked the forum and found some related issue posted but they all are some codding related and not found any solution for my issue... i created another bucket and that worked fine. but old bucket showing that txt files only.

OK. So is it sorted already or not?
No.. I mean now i am not able to edit that uploaded files on that bucket.... I can create a new bucket and upload other stuff but what when it repeat again with second bucket also... And am using AWS first time.. So looking for some stable solution .
