Did I just loose my ETH transaction?

I used their website which checks out as the real one.

Oops. Or Not even

Checking back through the browser history and yep I got phished.

It seems when I was checking the balance I was on the right site but when I actually created the wallet I was on a phishing site without realising. The fuckers are using the unicode trick. Spot the difference in the web addresses...

The address is actually this and if I had actually checked the https certificate is what I would have seen.

It would seem I clicked a link to get there first time rather than typing it like I normally do. Simple noob security fail.

This, children is why you should not stop up until 5am looking at candle sticks and then mess around with your crypto without a sufficient coffee intake.

On the plus side the PC is not the problem (just the user).

Bro do what I did, GO download their OFFLINE WALLET CREATOR on GITHUB and turn off your internet create your paper wallet don't save it on ur pc save it on USB and go PRINT that shit! Don't put that USB back on ur pc again. When you want ur money, download a wallet to import don't trust websites. Triple check always if ur in doubt don't do it!

Yep that's what I always do with bitcoin but this morning I was tired and lazy.

I would class myself as pretty experienced when it comes to crypto and security but it just goes to show that anyone can make silly mistakes if they are not paying attention.

Yep its the PC thats my biggest worry here. Id happily write off the ETH if it meant I dont have to go as far as a complete re-install.

I know how these things work, FUD private crypters are basically undetectable. It can be attached to any system file, these shits are disgusting.

Also if you're serious about what you're doing and there is some money involved, don't be greedy to spend some money on hardware wallet.

One of the biggest tips i got was to never trade or to anything related to crypto online when you are tired! Get goo sleep first!

The only logical explanation is that coinbase stole from you. Transactions don't just 'mess up" it's done digitally. Did you copy and paste the right address?

If you copy and pasted the right address (and checked that it was the right address) then the money shouldn't have gone to another address.
