Did I just loose my ETH transaction?

New wallet on myetherwallet.com
transfered 1.03 ETH from exchange to new Address
3 mins later it went to a different address - and I did not do this transaction!

Im at a loss to explain how thats happened

via gdax as it goes. but thats not the problem. the tx from there went though and is on the chain. its what happened after that is the problem.

Some wallets generate new addresses automatically to keep your transaction private. Did you check whether this address isn't in your wallet?

What wallet are you running on your PC where you received this?

This is probably what happened...just hope he was using his personal computer.

Printed a paper wallet and saved the keystore file. Encrypted with a password.

On myetherwallet.com "view wallet info", upload my keystore file and enter password to unlock it.

I dont see how I could have another address linked to it?

i got funds in blockchain and all is good, if i want to withdrawal i shall do it via payer and thier credit card

Thats what I did and was surprised to see it say 0 ETH.
So I checked on etherscan and it shows the eth being sent to a different address 3 mins after.


Running all the obvious scans on the PC first but nothing found yet.

It's not going to be a regular virus. It's likely something in the wallet you used.

The way I see it. Its either
1. My pc is compromised (would need to capture the keystore file & have a keylogger for the password).
2. myetherwallet.com is compromised but I dont see how thats possible as they just generate the keys browser side.
3. Im missing something obvious.

As a gambler, currently my money is on number 1.

I suggest you to reinstall your computer and change your password. CCleaner or rogue killer might or might not help.

If someone uses private fud crypter for their malware then antivirus companies won't be able to detect that for a long time.

I would not risk that when playing with something like crypto.

Yep its the PC thats my biggest worry here. Id happily write off the ETH if it meant I dont have to go as far as a complete re-install.
