Sales from IG Shoutouts?

For all the dropshippers/Ecommerce guys out there, whats been your experience with IG shoutouts for selling your products? Is there a 'rule of thumb' type percentage you've found for comparing profile engagement against average number of sales in your niche?

The page i'm looking at for testing this on with a niche specific product (around $10 product price) has the following stats:
- 20k followers
- 1-3k likes per post
- 20-100 comments per post
(Those are all stats from their actual content, would expect promotional posts to be much lower)

As this will be my first shoutout, i'm clueless as to what to expect for number of sales (0, 2, maybe 20?!) and with the exception of some journey threads, all I can seem to find when searching the forum is "how many followers per shoutout" type posts - so thought I would ask. Thanks.

OP you need to do some test post to get the answer. No body can tell if you are going to get sale from that account or this account.

I'm gonna share my strategy with you guys. Firstly, go to Engagement Calculator(phlanx.com/engagement-calculator) and type the Instagram username. If the rate is above %2 then this is a good signal. (Note: For pages below 30-40k, it is better to have an engagement rate %5 or more)
Then go to Socialblade, again search the Instagram username. The IG page should ideally have at least 100 new followers every day. The more the better of course. It indicates that the page shares quality content and is getting popular.

Make a list of all influencers you can find on that specific niche that you want to sell. Note their engagement rates, new follower counts etc. and you will have a good idea which accounts are doing better than the others. It is recommended to do this for every different niche because the engagements rates vary depending on the niche.

It can be sometimes hard to find an influencer that does paid shoutouts. So don't be discouraged, when the account you are in contact with isn't so good compared to the other accounts in that niche. If they meet the conditions I mentioned above (%2 or more engagement rate and good new followers count) I still work with them. You can also always try to negotiate the price, they mostly lower it down. Always mention that you are willing to work with them long-term if the campaign goes well. Also, go only for 12 or 24 hours posts. Longer than that is not really profitable (bad ROI).

I will apply all your suggestions to the few profiles which I found on shoutcart for my niche and will be going ahead with the shout-out this Saturday.

My only concern is that as it will be 2 days before Xmas, not sure if traffic will be the same as that on a regular day - will keep you all updated. Thanks!
