Hi Guys,

Can someone give me a hand with this.

I have been doing SEO since 2008. I've worked on multiple freelance websites but I don't anymore, as i focus on my main affiliate websites, etc.

I am now looking to try and get a "career" going in the SEO industry.

What I am finding frustrating and trying to figure out, is this... I have all the skills needed, I know advanced seo skills, i can develop my own bots to scale up... i know i can do this job that's advertised.. The only thing is, i have never ever worked for an seo agency.

How do i get an seo agency to listen to me and really sell myself and my skills. I really want an opportunity to work at a "professional agency" for a bit

The job requires people to talk on the phone as well, which i am super cool about, as when i was freelancing before, i used to do it regularly.

Please help people. Closing date for this job is in 3 days time.

My CV has nothing in the past for anything to do with SEO.. Do you think they will hire me ?

Do you have proof to back your claims of recently ranking a website and consequently, driving more organic traffic? If so, then lead with that.

All the serpbook pdf reports I used to give clients were on my other laptop which broke. So frustrating, as that is what I was originally thinking about doing.

I know if they started talking to me and asking me questions, I could easily proove face to face, i can do what i can say and i am not talking shit.

The only problem is, is that I don't have a CV that has anything to do with SEO's apart from telemarketing, which was like 4 years ago now, as I have been travelling ever since then and have supported myself through various methods of making money online.

I know if they give me the chance, I could do this and really nail it for these guys.

However, for them to give me an interview face to face, it's going to mean impressing them with a cover letter and a CV... However, not sure what to do on the CV part, last job i had was 4 years ago and now I just make money online, doing different things.

Why don't you just use your skills to market certain stuff and become your own boss?

1. Create marketing company & site
2. Contact local businesses and offer sale increase for a month or less free then charge monthly
3. Scale up and eventually contact larger companies
4. Get rich and thank me :)

I hear what your saying.. but i want to work for an agency for a bit, i want to see what its like working in that enviroment.. i need a change of scenery and feel ready to try for 1 year in an agency... i really wanna just sample it, see what it's like. SEO has long been my passion..

Freelancing and affiliate marketing has been good.. but nothing is never stable...

one month you can make $5000 and the next you struggle to make $500... it's a rollercoaster.. i want to get a stable job for a bit.. then see after 1 year, were i want my life to go..

when i contacted one agency before, he asked for my CV... Then i never sent because i have no experience on my cv for working at an agency. This was about 18 months ago. However, for the new year, i wanna start it off getting into routine and getting stable dollars. I can still do my other stuff at night time. Feel like i need a change of scenery and the agency looks super cool.

I would like to stay on subject. Please if anyone who works in an agency has some tips or advise on this please do not be shy to chime into the thread or pm me. I really need to get this sorted before the closing date.

Just sent them links to your profile in those freelance site, you have very high chance of landing a job like that.

I closed them down. However, if i can get a face to face email, I can show them the automated emails i got which ere sent after i sold something. I made $40,000 that year. However, I closed it all down, I went through a touch of depression.

However, now i am doing affiliate kinda stuff. I dont do bad but it's never 100% stable.

Have you visited any agency for an interview yet?

I have only ever sent a reply for 1 agency in the past about 18 months ago.. however, he asked me if i could send him my CV. I never did follow up, as my CV is outdated, last job i had was 4 years ago. Which i then quit and went travelling.. for the past 4 years, I have been travelling, earning money from my computer. Now I feel ready to try an agency job..

Your best option is to be honest .

with a pass lie

exsplain you was self employed as a seo consultant online running a business and felt it time to slow down take a pay cut and offer the skills you no in a working environment.

exsplain all what you done online over the years being self employed , what apps what skills you got .

exsplain the passionate you got with seo and loving the challenges you get daily from seo freelancing , enhance your skills via words ...

good luck.

make the employee fill he needs you , sell your self via your skills , write a cv that fills all the seo gaps that force a interview

exsplain you understand time is money and deadlines are your seo life and understand bugetting indepth.

make sure to mention your always up in the morning so early getting on with seo tasks , all employee love early birds , exsplain you love long hours and working hard , all employee love hard workers ...

throw in your always doing weekend courses online keeping up with the huge seo changes .

JUST TAKE ACTION :)

yeah i know i need to take action.. but i need help from the BHW family to help me on what i put on my CV...

I can't say technically i was "self employed" either, i never did pay tax for those earnings.

so what the hell do i put on my cv... does anyone have a COVER LETTER for what i should say when applying. Really wanna shot at getting an interview and impress them with my knowledge on the interview. The job is over a 1000 miles away, so will mean travelling on a plane to get there.. so i need to nail this shit.

what should i do about my CV ? Does anyone have a cover letter ?

Please if you have been through this process before and worked for an agency, any help would b much appreciated.
