Is it worth removing ghost followers? I have a 50k account and I would say around half of them are fake. Is it worth removing these? Will it make a major difference to growth and engagement (will i get more engagement / real impressions)

Yeah around 20,000 were. They don't engage or see the post etc

I agree with this. Remove them slowly each month and engage more to your real followers. By doing this, they will see more of your content and can increase engagement rate. You can also try to collaborate with influencers to boost your IG.

Do you know if there's a method/app/anything to remove ghost followers i received months ago, rather than recent ones? That's what i need to do.

That's exactly what I'm doing too. I have a 200k account really old and there's a nice slice of my follower that actually are ghost. I think that cut them slowly it's the best way to do this. Maybe, if you have a good daily growth, try to hide your block actions keeping your growth positive.

I heard that getting a bot to do this can harm engagement further, so I've been doing it manually but there are so many I don't really have time to make a dent.

Just leave it,ghost follower will be disapear by the time.

It can be the ghost owner set unfollow,or instagram suspend the ghost account

Focus on gain real follower
