Not really. Well, almost all YT methods are the exact same, not much variation you can have. Either it's videos or its comments.

But this one actually had a twist in it if you actually read through it. Can be a good start to finding more twists to start the method.

I've read through twice and the only difference I could find was that he doesn't unlist his video and he probably share-locks his videos i.e You have to share it to unlock it.

You can't know that just by looking at the image that was shared.

The analytics show that he(or she) has earned that amount WITHIN the timeframe of a year, and doesn't tell you how long it actually took. I would guess it was only a few months at most.

I think minimum payout is around .18, but on average they're .40-.50. Do you have a link to your thread Cryo? Is it here on BHW? I'm kind of a lurker so i'm not familiar. Cheers.

I actually use VidIQ already and the free version will still allow you to copy tags, but does not help for niche research. As far as the method goes it seems really sound, but I have to wonder if you monetize your videos through google as well to get the double wammy? And kids lets not forget that this is YouTube, not a crappy tumblr. You can use much more prime advertisements here that would make you much more money. In fact, according to your own stats up there you got 900 clicks in a very competitive niche. So since you roughly had a 30% conversion rate we will say it was the same for the clicks, so that would be 2600 legit views on the main video that came through... you do realize that is plenty enough to sell to a legit ad space, correct?
