How can he monetize copyrighted content on YouTube?

Giving free publicity to the copyright owner.Why you think game walkthroughs are allowed on Youtube,free advertising for game companies.
 
I think earnings going to their copyright owner, not to channel owner. I didn't check his channel. No way anyone can monetize copyright stuff on youtube.
 
I don't think Ed Sheeran needs any publicity from a lyrics channel.. but the main question is "why isn't this guys getting flagged by YT when others are?"
 
If I was him,I would build an email list and sell stuff on the backend.
 
Many artists allow other people to use their songs in videos, but all the ads earnings from the videos go to the artists.

Might be, but making assumptions before even reaching out to them is a bit... well... not very wise.

Judging by the quality of videos, and very likely https://www.facebook.com/pg/DOPELYRICS01/reviews/, I bet they are doing serious business.

read about youtube fair use policy
this may help you somehow but still not safe 100% and needs to be creative
 
Why are you jealous that he can do that and you can't? Go explore your possibilities on your own instead of crying on a public forum.
