You might have it with your installed theme , if so then you just have to enable the Breadcrumbs. Or else add a plugin.

Interesting! Can you please explain why its bad for Onsite SEO? In my personal experience, (Especially with E-commerce websites) Breadcrumbs are still useful on so many levels, It definitely helps to reduce bounce rate and Structuring data ( filtering, attribute mapping, product feed), Recently we overhauled a large e-commerce website with a massive presence online but outranked by smaller sites. All we did, introducing, breadcrumbs & filtering and already seeing positive results. Thanks.

It simply leaves keywords where they should not be. It inflates keyword densities. For example breadcrumbs like "widget -> best widget - best widgets for dogs" and straight away you got 3x "widget" on one page. It's good for interlinking, but if you are really planning to use it, I would be careful with this.

You can google how to add custom breadcrumbs into your theme via the Yoast SEO plugin, but you'll need a child theme to do this.
Most breadcrumbs are hard coded into the theme's.

I was using Breadcrumb NavXT plugin back in the day, its still very popular with more then 700k installs.Im using Yoast SEO internal breadcrumbs now. If breadcrumbs aint good for SEO then they wont be used all across the major websites, just be carefull not to create tons of unnecessary categories.Keep it simple.

If you are ranking fine, then it's not bad

Yoast SEO has a breadcrumb option. Last time I used it was over 2 years ago.
