SEO boost from EMD .io?

EMD does not give a boost. Are .io domains restricted under these rules?

Well EMD does provide a little boost, but you need to see which extension and not all are equivalent. A .com EMD would be the rarest, as they are usually grabbed the quickest, thus, it has a little bit more boost, if you are able to get 100% exact match. Otherwise, a country level EMD would also have a little boost for local searches. But EMDs like .info, and all those weird extensions, may not be on par with a .com, or a country level domain.

emd give a boost in a way that google doesnt know if its an emd or an brand name.

someone here said that google know how to differentiate emd from brand name

but...

if you think about it you cant really tell if Game Hacks is a search with intent to look for hacks for various game or if it is a brand search

plus i used the same link juice (i redirected it) from emd domain to normal domain and normal domain was on 2nd page while emd was on first

For me I think you can rank io as all other domains even com or org.
Problem is that google in its algorithm more will force to rank you on local than globally.

Was your post saying for getting a .io domain google wants you to rank locally?

coms are always better, but io can rank too, pick your keywords and build links carefully.

.io is worthless to bank for me, I only use it for organic/white hat shite.

Domain extensions do not affect SEO.
EMD domain easier to position the top
