I have an account in the beauty niche with 7k followers but around 5.5k of those are fake/bought accounts. Lately Im having more success building my following and have been getting around 100-200 likes per photo and buying an additional 200-300 to get it into the top of the hashtags.

Im getting around 10-15 legit comments on average per photo and have a small loyal following who really appreciate my posts and always ask for more content. My account has been growing very slowly, I manually follow about 200 people per day and my account grows at around 15 followers per day (lately its been growing faster, before it used to be much less than 15/day)

Recently I keep reading about engagment rates on here and Im not sure how it affects my account but Im worried this could be a reason why I'm growing slowly.

Pleas help

I wouldn't close this account, I would just open another one and scrape your real followers to it.
Tell your loyal followers that you moved, get them to engage in every post on your new account and then you'll grow faster reaching explore page and top on your hashtags.

No need to delete the account. You can delete/block the bots/inactive followers and improve your engagement rates that way. Beauty is a niche where having a higher follower account might give you stickiness when it comes to attracting followers though. Have you tried a like/comment campaign instead of follow/unfollow? I think you will be able to achieve 15 followers a day through likes/comments, probably with less work and better attrition than follow/unfollow.

Thank you for the advice, do you think I am not reaching the explore page because of my fake followers or because I buy fake likes? Before I was dumb and made a mistake to buy 1-3k likes per photo (at the time I was getting maybe 20-30 real likes from followers) to get into the top section of the hashtags but I barely got any followers out of that and have been too embaressed to stop buying fake likes because I obviously dont want my followers to catch on that most of my likes are fake.

By the way, the reason I decided to buy followers was becuase I thought people would be much more likely to follow back if I had a larger following

I have definitly tried to like instead of following but in my experience the followers gain rate was much lower from doing that. I have tried commenting here and there but it felt so unnatrual to me, also didnt gain much followers when I did that.

The choice is yours but I would probably start a new one that's a lot of fakes, you can get to 7k pretty fast.

Do you have any experiance in the beauty niche? I ask because its taken me 6 months to get to where I am at this point and Im not sure how fast I would get back to here.

Having more followers DOES attract people to follow back, but it does the other effect on your engagement if they are fake.
If you got basically 75% fake followers, when you publish a post and none of them like/engage with your post, IG sees it as a shitty post and it might cause your real followers not seeing your post.

Yeah I've grown one in the beauty niche, once you get a nice amount of engagement it grows pretty fast.

Hm, I guess Ill also start a new account and post all the same content and try to get my real followers to migrate onto there and keep both running for about 3-4 months and see if one is outperforming the other.

Thanks alot for your help

The only last questions I have is do you think I should upload most of my posts to the new account at once (when I have 0 followers or very few) or upload them slowly (all of my content is original and takes 1-2 hrs to make). and also should Im tempted to get followliker after reading the success people have had with it. do you reccommend I use it for both accounts or is it very risky to get it now given they might keep raising the monthy subscription fee over and over again

Yeah that's a good idea, I would drip the content instead of posting it all at the same time. Also I would keep the old account and use it as a promo account for the main.

If you're going with a bot I would look at other options. Follow liker is fine and it works but I'm currently looking at other options.

two things, thats about a 2.5% engagement which isnt terrible. Secondly, NEVER buy ig likes it will ALWAYS come back to bite you and barely anyone looks at the top hashtags anymore anyways.

ANY account that has fake followers or likes is subject to being banned at any given time for any given reason.

you mean if my acccount reaches 40k organically even if I bough 7k followers a year ago there is still a decent chance it can be banned? What is your reason for saying never to buy liked?

If you're embarrassed about stopping with buying likes, just do a fake story about how bot followers are bad, delete your shitty followers and claim that the decrease in likes is because those "bots" and "fake accounts" aren't engaging with your page anymore. Just pretend you didn't buy the likes yourself. ;) A lot of bloggers and pages with professional management did this around the time IG changed their algorithm to transition out of fake engagement without losing face with their legit followers.

I'm in the beauty niche aswell and when I first started I made the mistake of buying 1.5k followers and likes. It got to the point where it was effecting my engagement. I wanted to keep the account rather than start a new one so I manually blocked and deleted the fake followers. 5k fake accounts is quite alot and removing them manually would take ages. I would start a new account but it's entirely up to you.

The only automation I'm using on the account is a like bot. The follow/unfollow method is spammy and I hate it when accounts do this to me. I have noticed accounts that have likes from big accounts explode in growth. If I had the funds I would invest in power likes but unfortunately I can't which is really fustrating. I got invited to join an engagement group which is good. I haven't noticed an increased rate of my follower growth but it's nice getting additional likes on posts.

I wonder if followliker or another premium bot has the abiltiy to block all of the people who havent liked a single post of yours. Otherwise it would take forever, and Id rather quit IG than manually block all of those fake accounts. I already started the other account, and I hope it goes well, if its a great success Ill make a follow up thread
