.edu backlinks..

So should a site like this one work? hxxp://linkgen.wordpress.com ?

.edu links are no better than any other links. Matt cutts a google engineer made a post on a forum somewhere ( i will get the link if i find it ) and he publiclly announced that .edu dont carry any weight.

Ok, I'm confused about the html link injection method. What do I do with that list once I have input my information to it? Do I just enter it into my address bar and "visit" the new link I created?

Just curious as I am newer to this and learning still.

Thanks!

Just index them in search engines.

Ok, still not sure what you mean by that...

I'm pretty stupid when it comes to this stuff :eyebrows:

So, do I need to post the list someplace or submit the links to something like Google blog search or what?

Thanks in advance!

@ CoolAdvisor,

Thanks for the link, it explains it really well!

One issue however, is the discussion about this method possibly hurting your rankings as "G" knows about this method.

Any thoughts on if link injection is still useful and valid, or will it hurt?

I think that this method is still useful.
First try it on your blog (wordpress.com,blogspot) or squidoo or hubpages or geocities or any other third party host. It's more safe.

Thanks for the reply...exactly what I was trying to do...

Experimenting with BH methods on my "free" sites that I can afford to loose if busted.

I'd like to see on what basis someone made this claim. Did someone actually take this method perform it and get deindexed, or lose SERP positioning? I can't tell you if its true or not true, BUT i will say this. I've never actually witnessed any penalty from the big G personally unless you dump a huge amount of links in a short period of time.

Keep in mind if you read enough boards you will hear numerous rumors about how "G" works. Trial and error your own stuff before you believe statements at face value.

Luther,

The link that was listed above had some discussions about Google knowing about this and causing issues, as well as some other stuff I have read around.

You're absolutely right about dumping huge amounts of links, as I have seen some issues already with a couple of my free sites just experimenting with them.

Heres some tips for easy dote**du

Go to h*ttp://h2**obeta.l*aw.har**vard.e**du register for free and then create your playlist. You can get 1 backlinks from there. just remove the "**"

Then you just need to wait the G bot to crawl them.

Pal, it's not working at the moment
