Someone is farming BHW accounts...

Irrelevant now but his writing profile screamed "indian" - not that all indians like write like that, but a lot of them do and that's how a lot of them start out. Then I scrolled down and saw his post on the "buy indian adsense" thread, and had a bit of an "aha!" moment.

Like you said, could be a coincedence but then...

I didn't see it as an "Indian" thing so much as I saw it as a writing quirk. We all have them, and many of these writing quirks can be used to identify a person trying to hide their identity. For example, my casual writing style, the one I use on the Internet, includes quirks such as:
  • Excessively using parentheses (you know, like this).
  • Using the unholy mixture of British spelling and American grammar in the same post.
  • Alternating between double quotes and single quotes for no specific reason.
  • Using neologisms in place of real words.
  • Treating the word "Internet" as a proper noun rather than the generic term it has become.
While most of these writing quirks are not present in my academic papers, even my real writing style has its own set of quirks.

@DamonBarraza and @Caseyhart have been banned. Here are a few other accounts I found along the way:
Just to help you spot out more of them, something else that ties these accounts together is that they're all firstname-lastname accounts.

The fact that @seo001 is still posting from them is making me want to permanently ban him.

He hasn't logged into his main account yet, but let's see if he logs in after seeing the ban message I'm about to leave him on those phony accounts...
 
Why does BHW get the most retarded spammers on the planet? It's a fucking insult to the status of the forum and it's members! We should be experiencing the most genius spammers in the world! Not these pathetic bottom feeders who aren't even smart enough to code randomness into their bots or switch IP's! I'm personally insulted and ashamed as a coder to have to endure such utter garbage! :mad:

Thing is, if someone is smart enough to do all that then they're smart enough to know that BHW is not the right forum to spam. The benefits of being a contributing member and building a reputation on the forum massively outweigh the benefits of spamming this forum (if there are any benefits, that is).

And it's not easy getting away with that shit on here anyway. If something slips through the mods, the members will catch it and report it back to the mods and you'll get the ban hammer drop hard on your ass. This thread is a prime example of that.

Okay, he must've seen this thread by now. I linked to it in the ban notes for him to see.

He just flat out didn't use periods and ellipses on this account. It's the only account he did this on.

Oh I agree, I know. My post was more satire than anything, but it does in fact bother me that such stupid coders have the audacity to spam here!

Yeah, I saw that one along with some other accounts he logged into right after:
Here's something interesting: it deviates away from the pattern of the other accounts slightly.
  • There's a space between the first and last name.
  • This one has a male avatar.
  • It's using a different IP (that's linked to another set of accounts that follow the same pattern).
Other than that.

A few other similarities the accounts share are:
  • They post strictly in the social networking and PPC sections. Only two of the accounts posted in other subforums (mostly the SEO link building and black hat SEO subforums, but 90% of all of the posts these accounts make are in those first two subforums alone.
  • They tend to hit the same threads. You'll notice similar accounts in some of the threads that guy is hitting. Take this one, for example: https://www.blackhatworld.com/members/grace-a-potts.1044190/ . He hasn't logged into it yet, but I suspect he'll log in to that one as soon as I ban a few more of his other farmed accounts.

Been having some fun lately with this. Your suspect has to have a static IP, though. If their ISP rotates IPs then you'll have to be sure that at the time of downloading a torrent, the IP was actually assigned to your suspect and not someone else.

Oops, sorry OP, I forgot to answer that question.

But yes, that's the site I used.

A few more accounts:
Edit: I link to this thread when I ban the accounts, so I'm leaving notes here.

When I checked the timelog of the accounts IPs, one will log out, the other will log in, then that one will log out, then another will log in, and so on and so forth. They're never logged in at the same time.

Edit 2: Wow, he logs into a new account and the first thing he does is go to this subforum every single time.
