So after 8 months of botting IG, I have finally experienced bans.

It happened to 4 accounts at the same time, after I've inserted a shortened url (goo.gl) pointing to a pre-landing page on weebly which redirects to my store (TLD). It's hard to get any conclusions. This is what I did.

There's 8 (aged) accounts (all have been steadily botting for about 2 months, no problems, no URL added previously):
to 4 of them, I yesterday added an URL (shortened goo.gl url pointing to my store) without a prelander. Nothing happened, they're still alive today.
Today, I made some weebly pre-landers and added the same prelander to 2 more accounts, and a different prelander to other 2, which direct to the same URL as the previous accounts. They were all banned instantly. Instantly.

I wasn't doing CPA or anything similar, like mentioned. So what triggered these bans?

2 possible things:
1. weebly prelander - maybe IG automatically flags an account using it.
2. maybe a mistake on my end: I read somewhere a while ago that you should let your account rest for 24hrs after inserting a URL. And while I haven't done so the other day and my accounts are still fine, I might have screwed up even more today with increasing the limits (by a bit) on 4 of the accounts (that were later banned) after they have already reached its following limits earlier today. I did that around the same time as I inserted the URLs; meaning they automatically started following again because I increased the daily limit.

Any thoughts? I'm kind of new to the ban club.

doesnt matter what bot he used its the link for sure, i see a lot of bans for weebly prelander
did you block ig crawlers?
perhaps you could try Google+ prelanders or amazon free hosting ?

It could be shortlink, or weebly, or too much user reporting your account, or just for no reason at all. 8 accs alive running for 8 months and 4 accs dead after that, your banrate is pretty low I guess. Just scale up and expect a few % of your accs willl get banned every month.

I heard shortlink isn't safe, not really sure about that. But I heard from a lot of people saying weebly isn't safe. Not sure with tumblr. Why not buy $0.88 cents tlds.

IG Crawler scan the links on the prelander, if there's no fake recaptcha.

Maybe do some cloaking? Or cloudflare with "i'm underattack" challenge (if you just want to try to fool IG bot), but you will probably be losing legit visitors with CF since everyone hates waiting.

If it was 5 mins after adding the URL then most definitely it is the URL itself that triggered the ban, logically. Nonetheless, Weebly is crap for IG anyway.

Probably weebly is the reason. Do you even need prelander if store is legit? I read some guy had same link on 10 ig pages without problems.

It might have actually been the "goo.gl" shortened link. I've heard that the best link shortener to use it bit.ly and I've never had issues using it personally.

I've done a test about which pre-landers will get banned the fastest (in a span of 3 days)

All of them are in crazy settings, like 14~30 second delays for each follows at 1400~1800 per day on an aged account.

Results so far:

1. weebly (got banned in day 1)
2. wordpress (got banned in day 1)
3. tumblr (got banned in day 1)
4. blogspot (got banned during day 3)

I didn't used link shorteners because I think tons of spam sites are hidden in those shorteners and instagram isn't dumb enough to not notice that.

I believe the moment they see a shortened link in your bio, you're already one-step away from a red flag.

Honestly what you expect with such settings? You are asking for ban. 700 follows a day is really ALOT on IG these days, you are doing more than 2 times more.

Your accs didnt get banned because of your prelnader. Accs get banned because of your activity.

Enormous follow/unfollow + link in bio = very high risk of ban.
You just proved that tons of follows/unfollows + link in bio may resunt in ban.

Crawlers are clever enough not to use the offical user agents and IP address ranges for certain activities, just have a look at the Google crawlers. ;-)
