Yes, CCleaner does a very good job of removing old registry entries, unwanted context menu items and browser related junk.

Don't worry about their previous issue with hackers as others have mentioned. As far as I know this 'hack' only effected the 32bit version and only occurred during a certain update.

I have been using Ccleaner since its inception and I have never had an issue with it. It is a good little light piece of software which will really improve your pc's performance. They also have an app for android which is ok.

Yes, it makes your computer run faster. After you scan your registry, click on "fix selected issues". A pop up will ask you: Do you want to back up changes to the registry?
I always do so if something went south I could restore my setting (never had an issue with it though but better safe than sorry).

CCleaner is ok, but i prefer Glary Utilities. It removes more junk e.g. stuff which is left after Windows updates. I always run CCleaner first, it removes what it removes, then Glary Utilities always finds some additional stuff, which can be removed. This adds up to 18 GB in the past year.

You think you not having things complicated having same great too that does same job ?

Tbh I wouldn’t want to tamper with windows files has that has caused me alot

I guess it's just a habit to use them in combination. Glary Utilities does a bit more with removing the downloaded Windows updates after you installed them and the downloaded data is not needed anymore, only takes up place. I wouldn't really consider this tampering. You can do the same manually, you can find the downloaded Windows updates in a folder in the root of your system drive. It's not like when you edit your registry with regedit and if you don't know what you're doing, things can go sideways.
I use the registry cleaners of both too. Different registry cleaners always find different errors in the registry. I have yet to use to registry cleaners, which would have found the exact same errors.
I use the defragger of Glary Utilities, i always use CCleaner when uninstalling a program or disabling autorun of certain programs. So it's not like they're exactly the same, they have quite a few features, which are different.

I would stay away from no-name or lesser known cleaning tools, those can easily fuck things up, but i'm using these two since ages and never had a single problem with the system. These are two tools, which work great. Alone or in combination too.

I no longer use CCleaner but back in the day when I was I liked it a lot. I think I got annoyed by random pop-ups and notifications and eventually got tired of it. But function-wise, it's great I reckon.
