Monero Mining | What if traffic would be cheap enough?!

Hey guys,

the last days I stumbled over the new thing in monetizing websites called "cryptomining in everyones browser" who visits a website. I discovered some services I saw that there are possibilities to get the miner running without noticing the visitor the mining process on his computer.

I thoughtabout what would happen if you could buy or generate cheap traffic and throw it to your own configured website with your cryptomining script running on there. I mean if the traffic would be cheap enough, that could be one of the most quickest ways to generate thousands of dollars.

But it's not that easy, because each visitor needs to stay a few seconds (minutes or hours would be better) on your website, to get the miner running.
In the traffic scene this is called "retention time" and is mostly used to generate traffic on video websites like youtube to make the views/visits look legit.

I tried to get the thing running with the "jingling bot" and must realize very soon, that there isn't coming enough traffic from it. I also searched for offers to buy cheap traffic with high retention times to throw at my domain/monero miner. Unfortunetly i did't find anything that was cheap enough to make a profit with buying and sending it to the mining script.

I know that it would be too good to be true. And if it would be that easy many people would do it already.
But the thought is in my mind every day. THERE MUST BE A WAY!

i came up with an idea a long time ago. it involves unity3d the game engine and a web browser plugin for unity3d that supports javascript and android. then make a non-intensive but addictive game, and load up the webpage on a mesh somewhere in the background so that it mines monero during usage of your unity3d app. buy cheap downloads @0.10 each. voila! instant user retention using the addictive game, with a hidden miner in the background.

Yes, i think this could work. It for sure has legs, just gta improve that retention time.

Think i might have to try this, @nslw9495n is monero the only coin available for this on those platforms ? Dash, litecoin, any of these available ?

I know ive just ignored popunders in the past and just leave them unless they are playing a video or music. Then i would close it as soon as i can

To go unnoticed you have to throttle the miner, so that immediately kills its earning potential.
Even cheap traffic probably wouldn't be profitable. Fake traffic is unlikely to work because of the cost of proxies.

You'll be absolutely wasting almost 100% of your advertising dollars.

I will tell you why:

1) The miner starts in your visitor's browser without visitor giving any opt-in / permission to run the miner.
2) Visitor's Antivirus goes nuts and blocks and stops your javascript miner instantly - Success rate 0% (all antivirus blocks it - even the free versions with basic functionality)
3) Visitor's Adblocker browser extenstion instantly stops your miner from running on their browser the moment they visit your site. - Success Rate - May be 0.01% (since 99.99% of all known adblockers block your miners)

Even if you go for an absolutely cheapest traffic, you're throwing your money in the ocean

It's not unless user gives explicit opt-in to mine Monero on their Android device which 99% of the user won't.

Also, when the miner runs on the Android device in background, it will drain their battery in minutes. User will quickly recognize their android running unusually slower than normal. Not to mention, you'll be making a tiny 1/100000th of a cent by letting the miner run on Android device after making sure still these conditions are met.

1) the user have no antivirus/adblocks installed on their device.
2) User giving explicit opt-in / agreeing to run the miner.

I agree that it's doable and with being creative with lots of variations to what he said. But still not on a mobile device.

I'm thinking mobile. If I ever make $ of this I'll report back. For now it's not something I can focus on, but I'll keep it in mind.

Tried popups with 22nd tier countries, the cheapest it gets. Not remotely profitable.
The only traffic that's cheap enough for this is free traffic, you should think in that direction.
Also, some of miners are useless on any browser other than chrome. That sucks too.
Also, mobile traffic is useless.
Also, need to let them hang in there so as someone suggested a game or a 3 hours marathon of porn would be something to think about.

for what its worth. i created a fancy landing page that was fake. and used hitleap to get free traffic for monero. it works beautifully, except if the computer viewing it is a low end box then you get nothing. but majority of people have vps's running on hitleap. they never saw it coming.
