IG Account Advise

Hey guys hows it going over the past 3/4 years ago I started an account on IG and grew my followers to 12.4k. It was an account about sneaker head culture and featured new releases and stuff like that. My user engagement used to be good, but I honestly have been busy and now I barely use the thing so even if I post something new its like starting from scratch. When I was doing it I had no idea there were ways to make extra money if you had a lot of followers and engagement. Was wondering if any veterans could offer any advice.

You can either start selling shout-outs when you have more followers or promote your own products. There are many ways how to monetize. Just think outside the box.

Hey firstly thank you for the reply. What I meant though is that when I was active on my account and had great user engagement I wasn't didn't know you could use IG to make some extra money. The problem now is that even though I have over 10k followers since I have not been active for 6 months at a time I've lost the rapport I built up with my followers. So my question is what is a good way to build it up again and do I stay in the same niche I began with? Should I maybe change my user name and try another niche and build up the engagement again organically? Thanks

I don't think if changing the niche is a good idea. Continue where you ended. Start posting high quality content and the engagement rate should go up again. It's up to you.

I have a small account with about 11k followers. At the moment I am just posting and trying to get more follows and grow the account. I am also very busy with my life and what I did is that I created something to encourage my followers to send me content that they think is suitable and can be published. Works thus far. Perhaps you could try that
