301 redirects page from old to new one. There should be no any content on the old page.

However, you are talking about redirected "pages" so I am not sure whether you want to redirect entirely different domain to your money site or each inner page by itself etc. Please, clarify. However, one way or the other, yes, they need to be relevant.

301 doesn't have to be semantic for your domain.
Expired domain with other anchor text, but with very old backlinks will give power as 301.

i mean if we have an old domain and 1-2 of its pages have 40% of overall domain's backlinks
if we repurpose this domain - would it hurt the seo if we then redirect these two inner pages to its homepage?

You have 2 options there. Either recreate those pages completely, or at least recreate their URLs and set up some "content not found" or do the redirect. I would go with the second option personally.

Content not found. Remember to have some menu or something on that page though, that links to your homepage and other pages, so that the juice keeps flowing.

and if old pages have links to these versions *http//www.xxx/*
we need to recreate the same url with *www* or *http://xxx* would be ok?
i see no option for having *www* in a permalink in wordpress settings atm

Wordpress properly redirects all http pages to http:/www
in Google Tools i set up http://www domain version as a main one

now i see that 80% of previous http:// version articles de-indexed and organic keywords growth stopped.
www version articles are not being indexed again at the moment. Seems it is all stuck in this situation

what would you advice to do? may be no-index all website for a while ?

No idea why you've done that in the first place. Redirect each article to it's copy at www version.

Add the www version to google webmaster tools. Submit a sitemap and request a reindex. Then just wait. Everything should be normal in a week or two.
