Uploading Large Files To Server (500MB) - Need Sollution

Hi, have a slow internet connection, I want to download and upload large files which are on average about 500 MBs.

So, i am thinking of using a VPS for this purpose... is this a good way to this or are their any other better solutions?

In case of slow UP speed, simply zip it into smaller pieces, upload to FTP, unpack and then you can send it wherever you want.

Splitting big file on slow connection is a good idea as sometimes connection can be dropped (depending what type of connection protocol you're using)

A vps will work fine, thing is you still need to upload or download from the vps.
Are you uploading to a website? or dropbox or something?

If the files are going from one remote location to another then a vps would work.

If you ultimately need them with you, then compressing and splitting the files with something like 7z would be better.

Usually, I upload a file from local machine to VPS via SCP. Then I connected to my VPS via VNC. From my VPS I can upload to anywhere with fast speed.
