Do amazon affiliates still get paid if a customer bookmarks an affiliate link or use the "add to list" button, then makes the purchase for the item at a later date?

I've wondered this too. I'd venture to say 'no', you won't get paid, unless the person lands on amazon directly from clicking through your website, every time. Amazon must see the referring site as yours.

Note: Recently, they started allowing direct links on FB and Twitter, so those two are the exception.

Update. Just contacted Amazon. The answer is a big fat NO. It does not count towards a qualifying sale.

Me: Let's say a person goes on my website and clicks a link to be taken to Amazon. The URL has my affiliate tag, and they make a purchase. What happens if user bookmarks the Amazon page and use it later to make purchases?

Amz.: If the site visitor bookmarks your webpage with the link and then when she pulls up the book mark and clicks on your link from the book marked page, then yes it would count towards sales. If someone visits your site and gets directed to Amazon and then book marks Amazon, then you would not receive the commission.

It's just not fair. At least 30 days would be desirable.

Especially if the goods are expensive. People can not make a decision right away.

Most of amazon’s rules for affiliates arent fair. The way they inconsistently enforce them, isnt fair. A lot of their business tactics arent fair. Life itself isnt fair. Lol.

I found out that If the user places the item in the basket, then we will still get paid up to 89 days after they clicked on the original affiliate link which ain't bad I guess.
