Severe drop in engagement two weeks ago

Hello!

I have a personal photography account at 25k followers about two weeks ago I saw a sudden and noticeable drop in engagement on my photos, anyone notices something similar?

Prior to this drop, my reach was around 3.5k and I was averaging around 1.3k likes per picture, posting about three times a week. Current numbers are about 3k reach for 700 likes.

There's only one thing I can think might be happening. About three or maybe two weeks I received a sudden influx on 300 followers in a day, this seemed to me like a mix up of something like a panel order.

My worry is that I have this 300 ghost followers on my account consuming spots on my reach and wasting it. Or that IG has figured out a new way to ghost ban my account that I'm maybe not aware of.

Helpful if anyone has dealt with something like this

The jest is that Instagram's algorithm is messing up with many accounts. I've experienced it on many of the accounts that I handle. some have stayed the same, many have dropped engagement. Some, as much as 50% loss in engagement. Other accounts, putting along just like normal.

Nothing much you can do, except, work hard at it, keep doing what you were doing, engage more with your followers and hope IG stops messing around.

My engagements also dropped sharply and the reason i can think now for this drop is possibly that i am following around 420 accounts daily and may be because of this instagram limited my engagement So i want to ask did you also follow hundreds of accounts to gain follower from all of your account or are you doing follow activities only from those account which saw engagement drop. Or you did not follow accounts at all. Please reply

I wish I could say that is a safe number, but everything depends on the account. Some newer accounts can follow 600 and unfollow 600 in one day, without problems. others get flagged by doing 100 of each in one day. You won't know until weeks or months later if your account has been flagged as it no longer gets the same engagement or new followers.

Always start safe, then go up slowly over 1-2 months.

And actually my acount was created on may 2017 but 2 day ago i changed it's username and began using it so can u suggest me safe number of accounts i can follow per day. I usally follow 35 account and after 30 min i again follow 35 and i repeat this activity 12 time in a day so in this way i follow around 420 accounts a day. is this safe? Or should i decrease the number of follow? To stay away from this flag. Please reply

What you're doing seems safe. Unless you see a temp ban, keep it up. Do be careful with changing the URL on the Bio when changing the username. Don't put CPA or bitly links, that's a sure way of getting flagged or banned.

Instagram replied that to you? I went from getting 400+ likes on a photo to 200+ on a pic. So this is an algorithm error or is IG limiting visibility of my posts because i was botting?

Most of the ones receiving drastic drops are those with business accounts. Why? Because Instagram, eg. Facebook, wants to make money, and they can only do it by charging others to advertise their posts to gain more engagement. Or, the way I think about it, make you pay for your own engagement.

eg. You had 400+ likes, dropped down to 200+. You now have to pay to go up to your original 400+ engagement. Seriously, Apple with the new iphone battery hack, charging you $29 for a battery that you don't need, makes more sense.

Nope. Reverting won't do much. It's like you see a girl doing something awful. Well, from then on, everytime you see her, even if she looks appealing, you'll remember that awful thing she did.
FB will tag your account as a potential spender, and not loosen the engagement noose.
