So, what makes your game different from all the other 1k games out there that is worth making $1M in profit?
Who is going to pour money in the project for marketing? You or the marketing expert?
Why would a marketing expert JV with you when he can hire a developer for cheap online and keep all the profit?
Great Questions,
What makes my game different is the quality of game I am making. It is just not visually appealing but also has a proper storyline. That is one of the things that makes my game different compared to the other 1k games. Also most of those games don't have a proper presence and marketing plan to really bring out the most of their creation. What I am trying to build here is not just 1 app or just 1 game, I am trying to build here is fantasy world, where this single app is just a small part of. A small part but the most important one, as it will determine whether we start at the bottom of the stairs or a few step higher.
I am not asking the marketing expert to bankroll the project. The only thing I am asking for is his expertise to take over some work of me.
Actual example
At the moment I am doing most stuff myself.
- coding the app
- bugfix
- mesh creation (game objects)
- Building Social media presence
Let's say I write a code, great it working! but sadly enough you pawns stopped moving. Time for bugfix!
Bugfix takes a while as you need to redo a certain code that worked before. The larger the project the more time it takes to get it right.
1 hour of coding has now become 3,4,5 hours of coding/bugfix.
Then I have to make other game objects. i.e Upgrades for buildings etc.
The more detailed it is, the more time investing the process.
Building social media presence
Keeping all the pages up dated, creation of specific posts for each social outlet and forum.
All the above just keeps piling on.
While I can do all those stuff myself. It will only delay the actual work I can invest in the coding part of the app.
That's why I started this Joint Venture.
As why the marketing expert just go to Upwork and recruit a cheap dev, well that cheap dev will most likely not able to provide the same type of work as what I am doing and also, you have to keep that dev in the loop if you want to bring out updates and other stuff for your game app. So in the end it will most likely cost you more or you will lose profit because of the time it takes for him/her to fix the problem.
In my case you won't have that as I am on top of that.
