Has Pinterest lost their goddamn minds?

Did anyone notice that we can't see the Repin count anymore, anywhere?

First they remove the repin and like counts from individual pins, and make them visible only when viewing boards. Then they remove the like functionality altogether. Now... they remove the repins count completely. I can't manage to find how to see any pin's repin count. I tried looking at my own pins while logged in, i tried looking at other peoples' boards, I looked at the Pinterest homepage where a bunch of pins always display.

Nothing, there's no repin count anywhere.

Anybody knows what's going on here?

They figured the less numbers they show, the less interest from the gaming-oriented demographic. Instagram wants the wine sipping, shoe buying mommyblogger crowd, not their teenaged sons.

Well we can still play the game on the sharing benefits, although without the share counts being visible, it changes things.

But what gives Pinterest the right? The nerve on them! Not even Facebook or Youtube have attempted such disastrous things. Someone should sue them! :p

See how fast people start losing interest when they can't even see the fruits of their labor in promoting their pins and uploading quality photos. Myspace, meet Pinterest.

Stupid.

I thought it was only on my end lol.

I just played with the Inspect Element. The Repin count isn't even visible in the code. So it's really gone, at least for now.

By the way, Pinterest, you should really release some sort of statement about this. It's a super jerk move to just remove this and say nothing about it.

But maybe they'll bring it back. They've been going through changes lately. A bit of a design touch, and also at one point recently for about 10 days everybody's followers and following counts were exactly the same. So I'll give them a chance to do the right thing and restore the Repins counts, some way, somehow.

Come on Pinterest, don't be a party breaker :D

If you click on the image yo'll see the repins something like this.." shared in x boards"

No you won't. Where?

Can you share a screenshot please?

It is not working in such a way as on the screenshot.
I don't see any repins too not from a usual account and not from a business account.

It's not a business account. Try with pinterest app,

Another company trying to fix what's not broken... we'll see how all these recent changes are received by their users. Seems like a pretty stupid move though.

It's a ridiculous move.

Frankly, when they remove their likes count, and later the likes functionality altogether, I didn't care. The likes were fairly useless on Pinterest. But the Repins matter. The repins count matters. People are so used to being able to see the number of likes/shares/followers/subscribers. What is Pinterest thinking?

Pinterest have always done stuff like this and will continue to do so, nothing you can really do about it sadly.

They actually make the changes like this early but only to a certain number of accounts and collect data from them. If they like how the changes perform they roll it out across the entire network, that's why some people are still seeing repins it hasn't been fully implemented yet.

With Pinterest you have be ready for major changes to network and adapt or move to another platform :/

I don't know what these changes are suppose to accomplish, but, right now, all you can see are the image and pin title. So our strategies need to change to make those 2 areas as click worthy as possible. We can't rely on pin description to give supplemental info. I wonder if its worth putting "click for more" on the title or as text overlay on the image.

you can still see the repins count?

Is that a pin from your own account or something? I just opened a few pins on desktop and I can't see repins or saves anywhere.

its from @lorand i guess he is using a old version from pinterest app, lets hunt it :smirk:

If you find a way to be able to see the saves or repins, let us know please. Some extension or app or whatever it may be, it would be wonderful to be able to see how many repins a pin has.
