Unless you have knowledge of managing a Linux server, my recommendation would be to start with Shared hosting. You can easily upgrade later on if you need to for whatever reason.

Hello, I'm the owner and have reviewed your issue. Your VPS IP address was blocked by our datacenter due to abuse, a syn flood to be exact. If our datacenter detects SPAM or in this case, an outbound attack they will block the network access until this is resolved. It seems that you spoke with one of our agents and were trying to use a command to download a bulk emailing program but did not know how to do it properly which was raising a flag at our datacenter. I feel that our customer service went above and beyond to assist you with an unmanaged VPS, even letting you know what you were doing wrong.

I hope that you are able to find a host that let's you do what you're trying to do, however our datacenter will just not allow this type of activity.

Will you email [email protected] next time this happens? This must have been a VPS or IP block on our firewall. This can happen from time to time. We have not had any outages. Make sure to email right away if you see this happen, we do not monitor BHW for support requests. Thanks!

Same as above! Either email [email protected] or my personal address [email protected]. Servers were not down, probably just the firewall blocking for some reason. We can whitelist your IP.

Ouch, that is harsh! After all of the help we gave you! So to clear this up, our datacenter actually blocked the VPS ip address over 10 times because of you sending out a SYN attack and trying to download russian SPAM software. I actually personally worked with you on this and explained in detail what you were doing wrong. Unfortunately your lack of knowledge and responsibility is what caused this issue.
