tips on traffic bots ?

Hi All,

I'd like some advise on using traffic bots on my own site (to increase my stats & rankings, not to click or increase ads impression -I have nos ads-)

Question #1
Let's say I put myself a traffic bot to hit my site (any desktop softw or SaaS that I see on BHW) --> do you know a way to distinguish it from normal visitors in GA ? (i'd like to still see normal visitor stats)

Question #2, slightly different
Let's imaging some SEO supplier, puts a bot on my site to prove his "good" work ... any way or tool I can implement to see that ?

Well if the traffic bot uses a referral type of traffic, you can track those referred traffic source and those will be from the bot.
Or if the traffic bot uses datacenter type of proxy IPs, and if you are able to distinguish that, you should be able to identify accordingly.
But there are also sources which use residential type of proxies, and they leave very little foot print if properly configured.
